Price

This is one of the most important factors in determining if the HTC Shift is right for you. Pricing is starting at around $1500 to $2000, though that will probably to come down shortly after supply increases. That is a lot of “hard-earned” money to pay for something which can’t replace your main computer and when you can get wi-fi laptops at half the price its a difficult dicision to make in purchasing a Shift unit. However, I am happy to say if you’re in the market to get an UMPC, the Shift is worth a long, hard look. It’s pretty much the only game in town with a real keyboard and 3G connectivity.

SNAPVUE

SnapVue is basically the Windows Mobile side of things. On the SnapVue homescreen, you get a nice Today plugin. It shows the time, date, weather, emails, contacts, SMSs, calendar and settings. The issue is that since HTC has not provided us with the full Windows Mobile experience, you are limited in what you can do.

Priced at $329.99 this printer is not for the faint of heart. This printer although small, will put a significantly large dent in your wallet.

As you all may or may not know, HP printer cartridges are some of the most expensive in town. After checking this printer out for about a week, I found nothing special about it. Printers only have one job right?

So why the giant price tag on this printer?

The Linksys WRT160N is one of the sexiest looking network devices I have ever laid eyes upon.

This router is a new offering from Cisco Systems and Linksys offering ridiculously fast network connectivity for your home / home office while delivering extended range to reach every corner of your property.

I was lucky enough to be given the chance to test one of these puppies out, and I really enjoyed the entire experience. Previous to the Linksys WRT160N I was using the D-Link DI-624 which does great if all computers are on the same floor of your home / building. However in the basement of our house, wireless signal constantly cut out, and was not even usable for gaming.

Now with the Linksys WRT160N, I am able to browse lightning fast, and have resumed gaming on my wireless connection without ever experiencing lag.

I was also lucky enough to be supplied with a Linksys WUSB600N which is a USB wireless N adapter from Linksys so that testing would be optimal.

Quick Info

  • To help protect your data and privacy, the Router can encode all wireless transmissions with industrial-strength 256-bit encryption. It can serve as your network’s DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility.
  • With Wireless-N, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. It works great with standard Wireless-G and -B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N, the router can increase the throughput even more by using twice as much radio band, yielding speeds far faster than standard Wireless-G. But unlike other speed-enhanced technologies, Wireless-N can dynamically enable this double-speed mode for Wireless-N devices, while still connecting to other wireless devices at their respective fastest speeds. In congested areas, the “good neighbor” mode ensures that the Router checks for other wireless devices in the area before gobbling up the radio band.

A couple days ago, our friends at Kodak sent this little box of wonderment over to me to check out. Now I was already in the market for a printer / all-in-one and was not sure what to look for. I can now comfortably say that this is exactly what I was looking for! This printer does it all, and does it well.

Quick bits:

  • Bluetooth Enabled to Print from Cell Phones / Bluetooth Devices.
  • Revolutionary Ink System Allows More Pages Per Cartridge than Most Other Printers
  • Scan DIrectly to PDF with the touch of a button.

My thoughts after the jump.

edgelogo.jpgThe diNovo Edge keyboard, is a stylish looking bluetooth keyboard with touch sensitive volume, and music controls that is super sexy and works like a charm. Once again I was given the uneasy task of checking out this keyboard, and telling you lovely people all about it.

This keyboard is great for people using a laptop and that would like to switch to a full size keyboard rather than using the tiny laptop keyboard or even for someone that is looking for a wireless keyboard solution.
