The Internet first revolutionized the tech sector with great boom, as it stood for the availability of information and the possibility of maintaining communication with people over 10,000KM away. Then came the webcam so we can chat with people over the Internet while seeing them face-to-face, just like the other person is in the same room with you. Now, not only can you buy yourself a real life functioning robot, but you can also make love to it too.
Where did it all go wrong?

I was having a great day. I got all my chores done, playing my video games, talking to my woman, and then I get this message from Drew saying that the Iphone is coming to Canada.
Great.
Not only did my heart sink, but I knew the impending doom that’s about to happen.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the concept of the Iphone, and I know that it will “revolutionize” the cellular industry as we know it. It’s too bad the client base it’s aimed incorrectly. Read the rest of this entry »

Really, what has happened with this? Twitter used to be so cool! I loved throwing my status up there, and getting everything updated at once, including my personal blog and Facebook. But now all it seems to be is up, down, up, down. Its especially annoying when you get a whole bunch of messages at once about the people you’ve been following.
So whats the point anymore? New people, old people, fans, haters all go on to Twitter and they either get a page that doesn’t load, or an error message. All this is doing is making users (like moi) hate on the site, post less, and not want to come back. The guys at Twitter really need to get their (insert colorful swear here) together, and make the site what it used to be. Close it down, recode the damn thing, get another server, whatever you need to make the thing awesome like it used to be!

Is it wrong for me to want to throttle a whole website? Can Facebook really get anymore annoying?
It used to be totally cool, everyone loved it, and it was a neat way to catch up with some people you haven’t seen in a very long time. I myself caught up with a bunch of friends from where I used to go to high school before I moved to Ottawa. It was nice to start up old friendships all over again. But now, really it’s just redundant and Facebook needs to chill out!
First off there is the whole chat thing. Since people can get each others emails off of their profiles, or send a message to ask the person to add them to MSN, Yahoo, whatever chat, why do we need chat on FB too? Now everytime I visit FB I am subjected to people trying to chat with me, people who I never wanted to talk to in the first place, otherwise I would have added them to my MSN.
Now CNET is telling me that you can import YouTube, StumbleUpon, Pandora, Hulu, Last.fm, and Google Reader into the social network’s Mini-Feed. Like wow dude … I know it’s nice to have everything in one spot but trying to dominate the market much? They already included Flickr, Picasa, Digg, Yelp, and Del.icio.us. in the Mini-Feed. Honestly, I don’t need to know that much about people I hardly talk to.
The other thing that really bugs me, and a bunch of the NerdyBloggers have commented on it too is the faps (Facebook Applications). Why do we need so many? I will admit after looking at them, there are some pretty damn talented people out there. But for every talented application maker there are 20 people who don’t know anything. Mostly all these applications do it take up space, and cause pages to load crazy slow. It’s kinda like being on a non high-speed connection when someone has more than ten. Takes too long and you lose interest.
They have now announced a redesign of their platform. Facebook is going to become tabbed. That should be a little bit easier on people who are just going on to write on peoples walls and whatnot because the wall is going to be a separate tab, as well as their profile. I have no idea where they are going to put all those applications. Did you know there was over 1 billion applications loaded on FB? No wonder it’s getting to be slow!
Facebook is definitely the fad of the moment, and if they continue with all the applications and such, I wonder if they are going to be able to keep up with the Market or are they going to fade out and be one of those “do you remember when” sites. Time will tell I guess.
