Nintendo has taken another step forward in the world of interactive video games. Wii Fit comes with the Wii balance board, a new way to become interactive with the Wii. The balance board is a pressure-sensitive scale with built-in gyroscopic technology that accurately measures the users center of balance and body mass index (BMI) as well as shifts in weight, posture, and body movement. Wii Fit has over 40 different games and exercises, with different difficulty levels to get you moving and challenge your body, and get you fit at the same time.

Wii Fit features Yoga and Breathing; Muscle Strength and Toning; Balance; Cardiovascular and Endurance; and Stress Reduction exercises.

Yoga & Breathing Exercises involves stretching the body and forming different poses while keeping breathing slow and controlled. The body becomes relaxed, energized, and flexible.

Muscle Strength & Toning Exercises helps build strong bones, muscles, increase metabolism and makes everyday chores easier. With more muscle, burn more calories, even while resting. Sculpting your body is now easy.

Balance Exercises helps build leg muscles and improve posture.

Cardiovascular & Endurance Exercises increases the heart rate and works the muscles with activities such as jogging and aerobics. Fat burning at its best.

Stress Reduction Exercises helps release built up tension by allowing the brain to release endorphins (happy hormones) to promote a feeling of well being.

Nintendo hopes with the release of this new ‘game’ it will help end the stereotype of couch potato gamers, and bring more people, including women to the Wii and help them lose weight and get fit.

I really think this is an awesome idea from Nintendo. They have really reinvented gaming by getting people up and moving. This is great for a growing health conscious nation, and they’ve come up with some very interesting, very interactive games to accomplish this. Wii Fit drops May 21st, 2008. So close, I can’t wait to get it. I love all the things you can do, and I really would like to try the yoga. It’s also great for the people who don’t like to show off, or attempt things in front of other people. Your able to try things in your own home, away from prying eyes, and you don’t end up looking like an ass to anyone but yourself, or your cat/dog. I really like it the idea, and can’t wait to give this a try.

puzzlequest galactrix logoFor those of you whom have not got your hands on the sleeper hit Puzzle Quest, you’re missing out. In the past, when Puzzle Quest, was released, no one thought anything of it until some reviewers played it and were in shock of how much fun and addictive the game was. Gamers than tried the game and it became a hit. Puzzle Quest did the interesting thing of making a classic role playing game but having the battles fought out via turn based Bejeweled type puzzle solving. This innovative approach held the attention of RPG gamers and puzzle gamers alike.

With all the success of Puzzle Quest, you had to believe a sequel was in the works. Rumors spewed out slowly that the makers of the game D3Publisher and Infinite Interactive were working on a sequel to the game, and then a short time later, rumors rang that they were working on a separate entity as well that would be space sci fi themed. Fans were excited but wanted an official announcement.

For the announcement with details, pics, and my thoughts, read after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

2 360sYesterday, Microsoft announced price cuts for their series of Xbox 360 hardware. The interesting thing is that Microsoft is not cutting prices for Americans but rather only for Canadians. The price cut brings most of the game console sku’s down $50 from the price it was just 2 days ago.

New prices and my views on why this all went down, after the jump.
