I want in on the D3 beta so I can try a bunch of crazy builds to decide what to play on release!

I want to be a part of the diablo 3 beta, so I can show my friends how cool the game is, so I can convince them to buy it with me at release!

I would like to be part of the Diablo3 beta, I would explore every aspect of the beta possible and record and report anything interesting, although im not sure how much is left undiscovered but perhaps there are a few things that could be found. I have been playing the Diablo series for many years and am really interested in all its lore and everything it has to offer, I even read all the Diablo books out so far and am really iterested to play D3 and concludethis epic trilogy

The reason why I think I should get a Diablo 3 beta is because I been playing every single blizzard games. I played their game when they were use to be known as Silicon & Synapse. I remember playing their first game RPM racing all the way to Shanghai II Dragon’s Eye. I supported them when they changed their company name to Blizzard Entertainment. I then started playing their first game as Blizzard Entertainment, Blackthorne, and I remember having so much fun shooting things up!!! I have been to every single Blizzcon Convention, October 2005!!! I was there when Diablo 3 was announced on October 2008, the third Blizzcon I waited in line for many hours, but in the end I did not get my hand on the Diablo 3 beta because my cousin got sick during the convention and we had to head back to the hotel, and years after that I keep trying to stand in line to try out the beta BUT guess some faith has me not playing the beta at that time because more friends wanted to do something else, in 2010 my little sister got the stomach ache so I had to take her back to the hotel miss out on the beta again. I hope I get into the beta to test out Diablo 3, because it is one of favorite franchise RPG.

I would like to get the Diablo 3 beta because it would make me feel like a winner, everyone wants to be a winner, and i never win!

Sure, why not. I’d love a chance at a beta key. I’ve been playing D2 since release and honestly, nothing is better than bashing enemies to bits with a few friends. I have, aswell as thousands of others, been waiting for this game for far too long to pass up a chance to play what i’ve been looking so forward to playing.

Diablo has been a huge part of my life. I can still remember clearly, watching Tom & Jerry as a seven year old when my brother came into our old beatdown trailer clutching Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. I had no idea who Blizzard Entertainment was, or anything about Diablo. I thought my brother had went and bought the new Sims expansion, as that was what he was supposed to have gotten.

Needless to say, I was a pretty pissy seven year old that night when he told me he had bought some game called “Deeahblow” instead. It sounded really stupid to me. I sat behind him, arms crossed in our shared bedroom (it was just me and my brothers’ Carl and Beck living in an old trailer in a trailer park neighboring a Dairy Queen and a small stream).

I had no idea that this game would be far more significant than “The Sims” would be in my life.

I watched as my brother picked his character for the first time, choosing a paladin. I’ll never forget his name. “NewbSlayaa”. He told me that “The Sims was dumb, and that Diablo II just came out and he wanted to play it”. In all actuality, this was Diablo II: LoD that just released, but, I didn’t know the difference. I’m not sure if he did either.

Running through the Blood Moor, I watched, entranced, at the simple action of clicking on Quill Rats and Zombies and watching them drop. I watched in silence for half an hour, as he continued slaying demons. After awhile, he got up.

“Don’t touch the computer idiot, I have to go crap.” I remember him saying, glaring at me. He was my big 12 year old brother and thought he could push me around.

Normally I would be afraid of him… but not this time. I had to do it. I just had to.

I sat down in the computer chair once he left, and began my journey into the world of Diablo.

Of course, when he returned, I got beat up a little bit. But, it was worth it. I was absolutely amazed with the music. The gameplay. The simplicity, yet, the grace of all things.

From then on, every time my brother would go to a friends’ house, I would level up my own character, a barbarian, and play as much as I could. I still remember vividly it taking over four months to get to Act II and my brother and his best friend Justin spending long nights on the game. I still remember my first time I got scammed on Battle.net. I still can recount the vivid nightmares of blood and gore that were caused by late-night norm Mephisto runs to complete my Sigon’s set.

I’ve played Diablo on and off for many years. I was one of the biggest collectors of old items in Diablo II. I’ve been really poor, I’ve tried hardcore, ladder, I’ve done everything. I remember my first time fighting the uber bosses. I remember my first time, jaw dropped, as I saw the text “Diablo Walks the Earth” appear on my screen in patch 1.10.

And I remember all the old friends I made. All the laughs at getting owned by Duriel in normal because of a lag spike. All of the times that I scammed, or got scammed. All of the people that I saw come and go, and even this summer when I played non stop for several weeks, reliving some of my favorite childhood memories.

Diablo even served as a gateway, away from my extreme depression and suicidal nature when I was bullied a lot in Middle School for being overweight.

I remember when Diablo III was announced. The skeptic in me wasn’t sure it was a Diablo game when I watched the game announcement live on the very same computer I played Diablo II with for the first time (I had this computer for several years before replacing it… it was an old Compaq running Windows ME… so awful). I watched in awe as I saw Tyrael throwing his sword into the worldstone.

I knew that it was a Diablo game at that moment. Diablo III. Nerdgasming, I tried to go onto AOL and go “OMGOMGOMGOMG” in the group chat I was having with multiple members of Diablofans.com. Alas, AIM crashed on my ancient computer at that very moment and I was stuck with my computer locked up, but, somehow the announcement trailer still playing.

A few games have really defined my gaming experience. The Elder Scrolls and Fallout have left me in wonder of the beautiful open world. World of Warcraft had captured me with the complexity and cool lore. Fable and Halo were also childhood staples of mine. But I’ll never forget Diablo I & II. I’ll never forget the games that really turned me into a gamer from the onset.

I know many people have big stories like this, tons of memories, feelings, and beautiful stuff to say about how this game made an impact in their lives. In the nerdiest way possible, it’s pretty touching. What makes my story truly unique? In all honesty, not a whole lot. I’d still love a chance, though, and I’ve love this opportunity to beta test a game in the series that I’ve been so devoted to for the past few years.

I’m always looking up new info, I’m registered into the beta (but at this point I guess I’m not in) with a few accounts… I’m always trolling. I’m one of the true fans. There are a good many. And I am probably less deserving than most.

But, toss a brotha a beta key, because it has been too long since I played a fresh Diablo game and my right hand is itchin for some carpal tunnel, beta testing and hack n’ slash.

I don’t deserve this beta anymore than anyone else, but, dammit, I really want in. I’d love for the opportunity to help improve the very game series that my entire gaming interest has been founded upon since I was a child. Thank you.

To add to my first comment, I was so excited to hear about this I didn’t even read what I was supposed to do for this contest. So with that said, I’ve been waiting for Blizzard to knock my socks off with Diablo 3. And there is no better way for this to be done imo then to dive into the game months before its release. To say I want a beta key for myself is only half the reason. I’ve always wanted to be at the front, the beginning of a game to help other players, make a community and enjoy playing one hell of a game at the same time.

I’ve already got plans with a few people to hopefully start formulas, figuring out the code behind the stats, but one of us needs to be able to in to test the theories and do the work.

So you see, a Beta key will help a community of players if our group can do the work we want to do; like having an expanded skill calculator with stats factored in to Min/Max builds.

None the less, thank you for this chance at a key. Better to have a chance than none at all.

Why would I be the best option for the Diablo 3 beta giveaway? Honestly, maybe I’m not the best option. I’m not a super-duper fan who has made it to every Blizzcon, or for that matter any Blizzcons. There’s nothing particularly special about me, or my enjoyment of Blizzard games, Diablo included. I don’t have any particular disease or ailment that would give me some special privilege (my asthma’s far from debilitating, that’s as close as I can come!), and I don’t have some rags to riches success story that could have a Diablo 3 beta key as the epic pinnacle of some long journey.

I’m a normal, 23 year old college student who just loves video games. Now that’s a broad category! I’ve been a fan of Blizzard since the original Warcraft (when an older acquaintance had a copy) and I’ve been a fan of the Diablo franchise since one of my friends gave me the “Diablo Spawn” trial of the original Diablo. I went on to become addicted to that game, and then to Diablo 2, and then to World of Warcraft. Ever since hearing of Diablo 3, I have been absolutely ecstatic for the chance to play it. Every new bit of information has given me subsequent nerdgasms of truly epic proportions. When the skill calculator came out, I began theorycrafting builds for each of the 5 classes (what can I say, playing a Hunter in WoW really got me into the math/theorycrafting portion of gaming). None of this really makes me a special, unique flower in this community of Diablo-enthusiasts, though.

So really, back to the question at hand: why do I deserve this key? I haven’t a clue why, actually. I don’t think I make a more convincing argument than the next person, although I don’t think my case is drastically worse, either. I guess I just hope that this plea hits home with one of you folks judging, or that I can earn brownie points elsewhere (I don’t suppose any of you are Westfield State alumni’s? No? Damn!). Regardless, for whatever reason, I hope you pick my plea, because I would be absolutely thrilled to get a chance to play the ever living crap out of the Diablo 3 beta, right up until the day the beta comes offline.

Diablo 2 was the first game I bought for myself in high school, after I saw some friends playing it in the back of one of my science classes. It fascinated me, I thought it had amazing graphics – and still think the old d2 ones aren’t bad – and I’m psyched about the updates that d3 is bringing to the franchise.

Why I should get a D3 Beta…

I can remember being young and walking in the mall with my dad where they had a group of PC’s setup where you could spend $10 for 1 hour of game time to play Diablo. He let me and I fell in love with the game! I then of course moved over to D2 and D2LOD when the game came out. I’ve grown up with this game. Now that I’m 23, I’m looking to complete the Triology, I’ve been waiting for this game since the day they “officially” announced it. It would be my dream to get a taste of it before it officially launches. I was lucky enough to beta test SC2 and WoW< but did not get an invite for D3 sadly enough.

Hi everyone

So, I don’t really remember when I started playing Diablo, that’s how long it has been. What I do remember is joining the first diablo 2 community sites in 2001. One of my biggest interest were always the mechanics behind the game, things such as experience calculation, defense stats and other optimizations. I got hooked on numbers when I was at the age of four and haven’t stopped since. Besides playing of course I spend a lot of time analysing stuff a making it available to the community (calculators, modding). That is what I’m gonna do most likely with Diablo III aswell.

Right now I’m interested mostly in how the defensive stats of Diablo III work, namely armor, resistances and defense rating. Little information is available right now. I hope to get into beta one way or anohter, we’ll see, so I can figure those out.

Ahhh, the wonderful world of Diablo. So many fond memories. I remember way back in the day when I first started playing Diablo..it was my first RPG. I dove in head first, attracted to the dark style and the demonic theme. I was a rogue, of course. I love that archer type. I feell in love with the game..that is until I found the Butcher. I remember opening his door for the first time, hearing his voice, seeing his room. It–scared–the–crap–out–of–me. I ran(well, walked!) and ran and ran. I stopped playing for a bit, then continued on and killed him. That is one of my favorite memories.

Another would have to be how much Diablo 2 taught me. All the words and phrases, so much information. At the time, I was in AP English, and we were preparing for the SATs. And guess what…so many words on our list to study I already knew! Enigma, for example, was my favorite word on there! I won’t say that Diablo 2 caused me to do well in that class and on the SATs, but it certainly helped! I remember bragging to my parents too! “See Mom? Games can teach me things!”

Memories aside though, the Diablo series got me into gaming more than anything else. And now that Diablo 3 is upon us, a day I have waited years for, I am more excited than I have ever been for any game. It would mean the world to me to get into the beta. TO be able to see the game sooner and give it the test run would be unreal. Of all the contests and betas Ive tried to win or get into, this is the one I’d like to get into the most. Diablo is my game, it started my gaming life. It shaped my love for games into what it is today!

The original Diablo was the single most memorable experience of my Gaming life! From the moment I played the demo I was hooked by its simple yet engrossing gameplay, I pre-ordered it the next day (my first ever pre-order!).
I played with a group of friends from my computer science degree and we all lost many many hours to that game!

Diablo was a game to be shared and single player was never an option for me, so the thing that ruined the game for me and finally caused me to quit were the cheaters and hackers, the day I was killed by a hacked player with infinite health was the day I stopped playing.

Diablo 2 managed to solve the problem of hackers but eventually suffered a similar fate, this time the game became over-run with gold resellers. Even today I occasionally install it for a play, but the spam is so bad now that it is horrible trying to play on open servers.

But now Diablo 3 is coming out, I have had this game on pre order for longer than any other game ever!
It hopefully has solutions for all my past problems! It requires an internet connection, like an MMO, meaning no hacked clients! And it has a real money Auction House hopefully rendering gold resellers a thing of the past!
This could be the game that fianally takes the crown of ‘longest played game’ in my collection!

Getting into the beta for this game would be an amazing opportunity to help shape the game that will consume my entire gaming life for the foreseeable future! It would be a chance to help make Diablo 3 an amazing experience for the new gamers who were too young to experience the original games first hand. And it’s a great chance to make some new friends ready to share my adventures when the complete game is finaly released.

Well, Andrew I don’t know you personally, but I do know Myles! And Myles and I used to play D2 to death together, and honestly I don’t think he ever told me he had a brother! Haha. Upon release of D3, I’m sure we will play until our eyes bleed(at least I’d like to), and hopefully get to know you as well!

Why should I get to play D3? Because I’m bored to death with WoW(Im sure others would agree!), and after playing D2 for 6 years, and WoW for 6, I think it’s time for a new game!

I still have awesome memories of being 5 years old, and being so ecstatic the first time my stepfather and uncle let me play with them on Warcraft II. Ever since that day, I was completely hooked on Warcraft, and a year later, we all started playing one of the best games of my childhood; Diablo.

I don’t even know how many endless hours of my childhood were devoured by this game once it came out; a lot is all I can say for sure, haha. I even liked the Hellfire expansion!

One of my greatest Diablo memories was a pk mercenary/bounty hunter Rogue that me and my stepdad played, named Bloody Rose(it was mainly just to piss off all of his friends from work, haha). Whenever one of us was playing with the group of friends, at random times, the other would come in with Bloody Rose(usually me) and just wreak havoc on/slay the entire group of people. Finally one night, one of his friends from work came over to play on the weekend, and at one point I had gotten on our Bloody Rose character and as soon as I entered the game he says, “WHAT THE F@%&, HOW DOES THIS BITCH ALWAYS FIND ME!?” My stepdad led him to believe that he’d help kill her, and as soon as the fight started he basically just twiddled his thumps and let me rape the guy, then I walk into the other room and say, “owned” and he just stared at me blank faced for about 30seconds then called me a little asshole, lol.

Unfortunately I don’t have any specific memories as good as that for D2, but they’re all good memories, even the ones I get to this day from playing.

I would like the chance to play the Diablo 3 beta, just simply because it is THE greatest gaming arc of our time, or at least to me. I’ve been looking forward to getting my hands on Diablo 3 since WAY before true rumors/speculation began for the game. Let the epic journey begin!

To me Diablo is more than a game, it is a part of my life. In all seriousness it truly is, you see I have been playing this franchise since I believe 1996(?) which is when the Diablo 1 demo was released in an issue of pcgamer (forgive me for my details being perhaps a touch foggy). At the time that would have made me 6, now in all reality I didn’t play the game so much as just run around but never the less I was playing. It wasn’t until I was 7 or 8 that I started to actually be able to handle the game properly and play through the actual content with memory of it. My most fond memory as with most old-timers was my very first interaction with the Butcher and my subsequent cringing upon seeing his little chamber of death when starting any fresh characters.

My next memories of this series is the lead up to the release of Diablo 2. My father who had introduced me to this game along with many others was eagerly anticipating the release D2. Upon it’s release I remember him having set up a couple of computers in our homes office area specifically for gaming, more specifically for Diablo 2. It wasn’t long after release that my brother and I had a computer setup in our room with our very own copy of the game. I vividly recall my very first character, a necromancer. I played him on single player for a few weeks and got him into act 3 of normal. Shortly after arriving in act 3 did my very first unique item drop in a random dungeon in the flayer jungle, a Gravenspine. A fantastic necromancer find at the time.

Shortly thereafter did I abandon my necro on single player for gameplay that was a little more expansive on battle.net, which is not to say that it didn’t come without resistance. It took some convincing on my fathers part but he did get me to separate from SP and that is really when I became addicted to the franchise. From that point after I played the game daily for extended periods of time.

We awaited the expansion it seemed more eagerly than the original game, partly due to how addicted we were now after having played the original. After the arrival of the expansion though my parents interest in the game wained, in my belief due to problems in the life that a child of my age at the time wasn’t aware of in any intelligent capacity. My interest continued on into my 8th grade year of school, it was then that things changed in my life. My father died the first day of school (please keep in mind I am not trying to write a sob story but a truthful one and with that in mind this is a necessary detail to the story, but I will refrain from any details about his death specifically).

After that the Diablo franchise became truly a safe haven for me to spend my time in. I played for hours upon hours and with that I can admit to a level of addiction that was unhealthy but in a way was needed to help me cope with life. It was during 2004 that I actually started anticipating the release of Diablo 3. I would look for rumors on, at the time dii.net (now diablo.incgamers) and diablo3.com (now diablofans).

Over the years I have awaited this title, getting my hopes up for every Blizzard event waiting to hear some shred of news about Diablo 3. I can safely say since the announcement of Diablo 3 at the WWI in 2008 that the game has not left my mind for one day.

It is with that I declare my right in being considered for a beta key.

being able to play the beta of diablo 3 would make me so happy! ive been waiting for this game to come out since about a year or two after playing diablo 2. i was fortunate enough to have the spare time to play diablo 2, a lot! i would play the game so much that my parents had to take the computer out of my bedroom because i would be staying up all night playing. SweetButty was my first characters name, a lightning sorceress. then after my parents took my computer out of my bedroom, i would sneak downstairs and get on it late in the night after they were fast asleep to play. that only caused more problems for me and my diablo playing in the end. well im grown up now, and instead of playing around my parents, i will have to play around a 45+ hour job and a wife to please. it would be an honor and very humbleing if i were chosen for the beta key. thank you for your time!

The main reason I want to get into Diablo 3 beta, is because I want to see if I can bring back the times I had with Diablo 2. From leveling new Characters to constant MF runs, I want to see if I’ll be able to get that feeling back.

Whenever I hear Diablo, I think of my days from Diablo 2. From joining PvP games to MF runs with Myles, it was a shit ton of fun. There was always something to do, rather it was trying to get a certain item to testing certain gear combinations to looking for the elitist PvPers to burn them to the ground. Logging on every day I knew there would be something fun to do. From Vengance to FoH to a Hammerdin there was always something to enjoy. It might seem like I’m rambling but there were too many fun times had with friends to really put the reason I want to be in Diablo 3 beta.

I guess the short version of my post is that I want to see if the company was able to keep the core of what made Diablo 2 what it was. Whether you can still get that same feeling leveling with friends, seeing that unique/rare drop and getting excited to see what it is going to be. Walking into a boss room and guessing what enchantment the mobs before him are going to be and what kind of loot is going to drop. I need to know if it’s the game that is going to give me the same good times I had back when I was younger.

I’m a simple man, my life focuses on two things. Sleep and Diablo, so if I were to be able to try the beta out that would make my life a little less dull.

Honestly, I can’t think of any real reason why I should get it and not someone else, so instead I’ll just tell you a bit about myself.

I’m Danny, I’m 22 years old and I’m from Croatia. I’m an unemployed web designer. I have a black and white shih-tzu called Freddy who I love very much.

I do not have any friends, don’t get me wrong, I’m a likeable and kind person, its just that in my entire life I haven’t met anyone that is passionate or even likes games at all like I do. I’m not interested in cars, sports, alcohol, partying and all that stuff, I simply love playing games, talking about games and anything game related – sadly no one is interested in those things so its hard to hang out with people that don’t share my passion.

I’ve been playing games since I was just a little boy. I used to own one of the Sega consoles, an Amiga 600 and a SNES console. I think I got the Play Station 1 when I was about 7 or 8. One of the first games I remember playing on it was a Batman game, I believe it was based on the Batman and Robin movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze. It was so confusing, I had no idea what to do so I just ended up stopping cars with some sort of laser that Batman had, haha.

Anyway, as the years went by I played many games on it but one game stood out and made me fall in love with the RPG genre. It was Breath of fire 4 and I believe that was my first true encounter with the RPG genre. The first thing that got me was the anime intro scene when the game loaded, it was simply amazing. The story was great, I connected with the characters, there was magic, combos, dragons, robots, wings, sparkly stuff, fishing, leveling, gearing up and even alternative endings. It had it all.

About one year or more later, me and my twin brother wanted a PC so our parents got us one. They spent around 2000$ on it but it was custom made to have the best hardware of that time. The first games that we tried on it were Red Alert 2, Black & White and……..Diablo 2. Red Alert 2 was great, Black & White was amazing and still is but Diablo 2…I think I had my first nerdgasm when I installed the game and got to character selection screen and saw the Sorceress.

The game had everything I ever wanted and needed. Magic, a massive world filled with secrets and places for me to explore, dungeons, leveling, great voice acting, amazing story and Archangel Tyrael with massive white glowing wings. I still play it to this day, the day that I stop playing it is the day that I die or when Diablo 3 gets released. Unfortunately none of the people I knew in school or the neighborhood were into gaming and the internet connections were extremely slow so I had to play alone. It was my own little escape from reality, it was so easy to immerse myself into this amazing world and be a hero with amazing abilities.

Soon after I discovered Warcraft 3 and that introduced me to a whole new world. I loved everything about it almost as much as I loved Diablo 2. Seeing how Blizzard were making awesome games I decided to keep my eye on them. And then came World of Warcraft. Unfortunately at the time I really could not afford a game with a monthly subscription and the PC couldn’t really handle the game properly so I resorted to playing WoW on a private server.

Some time later, when I got a summer job, a new PC and a credit card of my own I decided to buy the WoW and the TBC expansion that just came out. Long story short, I played it for 4 years in a world top 100 guild. I quit just before Cataclysm came out. I did get the Cataclysm beta about 2 weeks before it ended, I still managed to see everything tho. While the beta allowed me to experience all of the story and other new stuff, I found that the end game has not changed much if at all so, while it was extremely hard, I decided to quit the game.

I would like the opportunity to access the beta test. Like everyone else, I have been playing Diablo and Diablo 2 for years and have been waiting for Diablo 3 to come out for a decade now. And just like everyone else, I was disheartened when I saw I was not offered a beta invite on the closed beta start announce.

In fact, the only difference between me and everyone else asking for access is this: I did not vote for Obama. So, in a way, everyone else is to blame for these tough times besides me. Therein lies the reasoning for me deserving this beta access.

I’m not sure I’ve done anything to really “deserve” a beta key, but that won’t stop me from leaving a comment for you to consider.

I’ve been playing the Diablo series since my parents bought their first computer in early 1998. I was quite young back then, just 10 years of age. I begged my mother for weeks to buy me Diablo. She wouldn’t budge, because she thought it was too demonic for my young and molding mind.

Eventually she realized that I’d never really give up on the subject, and told me that as long as I had explicit permission from her, I could play. This involved me completing my chores, doing well in school and playing outside regularly. I frantically and excitedly agreed, and she pulled a shiny black box from her purse (unfortunately, it wasn’t a magical purse, she’d just had the forethought to buy it before commencing her verbal contract with me) and gave it to me to play. It wasn’t even my birthday! I was so psyched.

When Diablo II came out, I’d anticipated it and saved up money from mowing lawns around town so that I could buy it on release day. We lived in a very small neighborhood, population 2500 or so. We had no video game stores, no super markets, nothing of that nature. When D2 released, I got my grandmother to bring me to town about 20 minutes away so that I could buy it. I didn’t have enough because at the time, I didn’t understand what taxes were. My grandmother pitched in the remainder for me. She always did spoil me.

I got home, installed it with extreme vigor and played for hours. I snuck out of my room and went into the computer room (which was actually just a hall with a small nook in it where the computer went) and played all night. I lost track of time, and after what seemed like MINUTES of playing, my mother tapped me on the shoulder and asked me what time I’d started playing. I shamefully told her that I’d gotten up about two hours after bed time, after they’d gone to sleep, to play. She informed me that I’d been playing, non stop, for about 7 hours.

I was both shocked and, after realizing I’d been up for so long, pretty exhausted. I knew I had to stop (she nearly yanked me out of the chair after I’d told her I’d been there for so long) because I had school. All day, I thought about D2. I even doodled some cool monsters and stick figures casting spells (I wish I still had them, but alas) in a few of my classes.

Fast forward several years. I’m now a complete D2 pro, I’m making money on eBay selling items (I was about 14, maybe 15 years old and had nearly $3000 in an account my mother had set up for me that was linked to my paypal account), I’m a freakin’ baus at this point. I’ve gotten all my friends into the game by now, I’ve given them insight and helped them to become good.

Diablo 2 is literally the reason I have a Network Administration degree right now. I didn’t know how IP addresses worked (remember Open Battle.Net?) and I had to figure it out. I taught myself how to install a video card, because mine had gone out. That was the beginning. I fell in love with technology. I started experimenting with white items (the cool ones), how duping worked, what loopholes were and how they worked, hex editing…I could go on. These new-found skills, or perhaps blossoming abilities, that I now knew how to use translated quite easily to other programs, other computers and eventually beyond.

Before you know it, I’m fixing people’s computers for $10 here, $20 there. I was the coolest kid in school. People thought I knew everything (in my field, the people I work with still think I know everything), and I was livin’ large.

I bought my very first vehicle with the money I gained from Diablo 2, with cash. Without D2, I wouldn’t have been able to buy that 1983 Ford Bronco XLT. That gorgeous rumble from it’s admittedly flaccid 302 V8 (I blamed the variable venturi) was every 16 year old guy’s dream. The bus? Who takes the bus! Hop in, I got enough room for 20 people in here!

So, in short, the reason I would love to participate in the beta is because Diablo has always been an integral part of my life. I have no doubt that without it, I would not be in the position I am in career-wise, I would not have the same interests and I would not have the same life, period. I love where my life has lead me, and I contribute much of this path’s underpinning to the communication skills, typing skills, troubleshooting skills, and the thirst for new and exciting information that I’ve acquired playing these fantastic games.

TL;DR – I led an awesome childhood, and Diablo was a fundamental part of how I grew up and how I’ve matured into an adult.

I started D2 around ’99 and for the whole summer me and a bunch of friends sat in my buddys basement (he had 7 computers) and we played LAN all day . I chose the Paladin class as my first character and decided to max thorns to benefit my party the most haha, I thought the class was fun, but then I picked up a Sorc back when frozen orb and lightning nova was the best spec to go (so much fun) and had a blast.

I then tried my hand at the Amazon and I thought the versatility of the class increase the re-playability! I had dual constricting rings and would cow all day..I had a ton of sojs that I saved up from trading and bought my barb a Grandfather.

I guess what I’m getting at is I LOVED virtually every class in D2 and I am still extremely undecided as to what class I will choose to start with in D3. The DH looks like it would be a blast regardless of the bad news I’ve heard, but I really would love to test out every class!

I’ve been playing video games for well over 15 years now and would be honored with the opportunity to help make sure the first impression for others is as exciting as it was for me when I started D2!

First of all I really appreciate what you’re doing for the community giving away a key in these desperate times. My name is Brett, I’ve been a devoted Blizzard gamer for a long time, played every game they’ve made including buying D2 about 3 or 4 times for myself and friends. Let’s get down to business though…Why do I deserve a beta key? I think I have a unique reason…

Like most of the people here, I’ve been addicted to D3 news lately waiting for beta, learning about classes and trying to come up with interesting builds using the calculator. One day I was reading forums, etc like normal and the great news comes out that the closed beta has finally started!

With palms sweaty I logged into my battle.net account….a single tear fell from my eye as I saw that I had no beta key. Desperate to discover the reason I looked over my account information. Specs look good…but I notice that my address is out of date. Surely it wouldn’t matter, but I updated it.

Well, back to the forums to suffer the whine-fest of all those (aka everyone) who didn’t get invites. Part way through a half hearted troll post i notice my gmail account increment the number of emails in my inbox…surely I must now be in the beta!

I click the tab for my gmail acount….MY GOD IT HAS HAPPENED! I see an email from Blizzard, a mere 20 minutes after beta has started and I’m in! I click the email, nerd chills running through my body. My eyes gleam as I read:

“Hello Brett,
This is an automated notification regarding your Battle.net account. Some or all of your contact information was recently modified through Battle.net Account Management. If you recently made changes to your account information, please disregard this automatic notification.”
I collapse to the ground and realize…I have just performed the greatest self troll known to man. This is why I deserve to be in the beta. Anyone can troll, it takes special talent to troll yourself.

Well where to start…. Diablo IS my gaming background. I remember the first day watching my friend turn over a rock in Diablo 2 sitting behind his computer and I didn’t know how he was able to tell that rock was movable and just not a normal rock with all the others lol. I have had so many good memories with this game even if at the time I didn’t think it was. One of these was when my friend let me borrow his windforce for the night and I felt like the biggest 8 year old badass in the world! The only problem with this was my addiction to “pop” games where it was a fake dupe trick that actually pops the character and all his gear he is wearing falls onto the ground. Anyways that night I got popped with my Real life friends windforce on and the next day at school was probably the most scary day of my life because he was a BIG friend lolol. I want memories like those again! I cannot wait to trade and scam like the old days, countless MF runs, Bosses slain, PVP and new friends. I am on vent everynight with a group of friends I’v been playing with for about 5 years now and we have been dieing to get our hands on this game. Another friend and I are the die-hards of the game, they don’t understand why we keep updating them on beta info and why we literally go in cycles through out the forums, checking our emails and battle.net accounts. I am a 24 year old aspiring professional wakeboarder from tampa florida and I pretty much train all day and all night I play games where I just recently got into streaming SC2. If I did get this key I would continue streaming each night with my friends while sharing reflective stories about diablo 2 and other games like the one I gave above and trying to be as informative as I could while making observations and connections between the old and new and giving my friends a hard time. I really hope I win so I can give my f5 key a break lol

Back in the good old year 1998 I got my first PC I was like 9, a few months after that someone gifted my first PC game, Diablo, I’m Croatia so I had no fucking idea what all the English meant but thought good old Trial and Error I figured everything out and months later I beat the god damn game.

Later when Diablo 2 came I bought it, and then I foolishly played it on a 56K modem and had tons of fun… so much fun that I racked in a 100$ bill and didn’t go to school for a week(note thats a shiton of money for a Croatian citizen in 10 years ago), anyways long story short my mom was angry as fuck and I got a good spanking (A very rare event indeed)a ban of playing or using the PC for 2 months and I had to do a shitton of chores.

Now naturally with the age of like 13~15 I got scammed to hell and back, I remember one Norwegian guy offered me a trackball mouse for some high level item, we traded, talked a bit on ICQ and then I sent him my address and everything… I never got that mouse ;_;

Now thats pretty much why I want to try Diablo 3, and since my laptop has a modem I might even try to play it with a damn old 56k modem! Maybe scam some kids!

Why me? Well..

Here is my little story. I am playing my witch doctor already for a few days. After hours and hours playing I finally got level 9. I really want play with Firebats skill.

When I got it finally, I encountered small zombie pack.. Perfect place where to try it. But I fail so hard. Graphics of that spell is really awesome. But Absinth to get these pesky annoying zombie just caused to be Firebats very ineffective. They were burning sooo slow.. with stupid looking blue fire. I was really disappointed.

But I say..no problem.. bring more zombies, I can use different technique to burn these stupid zombies with my awesome looking firebats skill… But I am getting out of paper .. PLEASE..HELP me.. Send me some paper or let me come into beta.

And of course.. I documented my last encounter with my fail.. Damn.. I am so sad..

I am not going to lie here, I am “really” going to lie…

I was born on september 13th and it happened to be a friday and its all been down hill from there. I am what some people refer to as touched, damn those priest’s. I don’t have many friends due to some strange physical traits like my third ball and extra nipple… I know what you are thinking, thats not so strange and easily hidden. You try hiding a nipple on your forehead and extra ball on your chin.

My entire life has been without joy, nor have i ever had any sense of worth. My biggest accomplishment in life has been finally transitioning into “big boy pants”, I had to special order those bad boys!!! You try finding diapers that fit when you weigh 600 pounds. I am also riddled with pimples and smell of funions and Dr. Pepper which is strange because I am a dorritos and Mt. Dew kind of guy?!? Other than suffering for a decided lack of selfworth I am also completly creepy in social situations, for example when i get nervous i like to put my hand down my crack to see if i am leeking. Kinda like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM4se7IL4wU. I need to find this chic maybe I could make it through a conversation with her. I also have been known to drop my sack into hot coffee when i run out of things to say.

My only joy in life has come from playing the Diablo series. I remeber when i was just a wee lad, like 300 pounds ago, playing the original diablo. I played it on a p2 and had to hide playing it from my family cause it had the devil in it. I played a warrior with reduction to light radius items for two reasons, first mobs couldn’t see me so I could kill them without being swarmed but also because I couldn’t bare my hero being hotter than me. Don’t worry though now I would play a hot girl and call her Hermine Granger because my balls have now dropped, yes even the extra one on my chin! I had fun running through the lava zones holy bolting the baddies. I even played the expansion put out by Sierra, “helfire”. I must say I loved the monk it was fun slaming my nippled forehead on the monitor for hours on end.

When D2 came out life really seem to be taking a positive swing for me. I had decided that girls were cool and I was ok that I could save up some money to have one pretend to like me one day in hour increments. Did you know whores had standards and what may cost you $25 they quoted me not for a million dollars? I didn’t know how I would be able to afford that on my government check so… I played more Diablo.

My first toon in D2 was an orb sorceress and man was I good with her. At launch you could spam orbs and fill the screen up with exploding corpses and spikes of ice. I was a god and loots rained on me unil the first patch and all of the sudden I was back to being a turd. My ego slipped lower than my third chin, the extra ball one is the first on if you are wondering. I raged, sent emails to blizzard and all I got back was an email requesting that next time I use spell check or send it to [email protected]. So i did the sensible thing and leveled 8 latter toons to 99. One day this dude comes into my game and tells me he will sell me a windforce for a few bucks, so i go steal my mom’s credit card and surf to the site, put the details in and then wait for my item. Well i ended up waiting until the statment came in. Some how someone had charged 25,000 dolars for phone sex on her card and my bnet account was full of naked charectors. I was like WTF all I wanted was a windforce and somehow someone had a crazy orgy with my toons and stole all their clothes. Needless to say my mother was not happy and sold me to a side show to pay off her debt.

This cramped my D2 activities until the day I escaped from the circus. That is another story but here are the highlights. Blood, Defecation, Slingshot, Whale Songs, I tub of crisco, and a Pez dispenser. I was inspired by Mac Guyver but didn’t have a paperclip.

Anyway when LoD came out I thought “This is it, I can be someone again”. I was half right. I played a bear druid and for the first 60 levels I was a god but then when i got to hell i had to run with classes that could actually hit things and act like a meat shield and hope my sausage fingers could click the loots fast enough to get something. When synergies were release man I stepped my game up another level and rolled skellie necro. It was perfect for me, I could sit back and munch my doritos and sip my Mt. Dew and watch all my friends roll through everything but Duriel and Diablo. I didn’t even have to change my clothes from sweating through them from sweating through them. You really work up a lather clicking buttons and swaping hot keys. I knew every nuance of the necro synergies and even posted a build on diabloii.net. It got rave reviews like “You are the dumbest MF ever, max golem mastery? Wtf”, or “Are you 12 your loot recomendations are as retarded as you are”. This was a step up for me, most times the only interaction i get from ppl is them poking on my ball chin with sticks or chasing me with pitchforks and torches. What i am trying to say here is that I belonged and I meant something.

Over the last few years my interactions with Diablo have really slacked off. Now my conversations with other players are just not the same.

I mean that just sucks… I missed the days when people would tell me “You Mad?” when they took my ear or “Cool story bro” when I said something cool and insightful.

So now D3 beta is out and I am watching all of these streams of ppl playing and I know that this is just what i need to get out of my rut, well that or a crane. I am itching to play a hero and be able to loose myself in a dream of deamon gore and barbian yawlps. Of coarse the itching could be from not bathing in the last two weeks. I am the perfect tester, I don’t have a tv so I can’t get dirstracted, I don’t have a car so I can’t go anywhere, I don’t have to move from the sofa to get food or go to work because I don’t have a job and meals on wheels delivers. Maybe I can get a head on items and get myself some money from selling items, that paypal place emails me 6 times a day asking me to log in! I need to make an impact on something other than my furnature. Can you help me be something? Please? Like that would be awesome.

Ok enough fooling. Here starts the truth:

I am an old time fan and have logged more hours in the diablo universe than I care to admit. I am well versed in the lore and understand the mechanics of the game. I have multiple systems in my house to test the game environment across mutiple platforms. I want the game to end up being the same wonderful game that the first two games were. I think it would be great if D3 has the same longevity that the first two had without the same issues, duping, hacks, etc. I will run wireshark inside my network and look at whats being sent between the client and the servers in the udp packets going between the two. Short story here, I am equiped to really test the game not just run the levels in an effort to prove my skills at getting the best RNG gear.

Anyway, I hope this was entertaining for you and helped you see some of my history with the game, my sence of whit, the ability to communicate and my thouroghness in illustraiting a point. To the other contenders I wish you all luck in getting in and see you all in the funny pappers.

When I was 4 years old I had a dream… in that dream some weird and mystery gonzo told me that I had to follow the path of my destiny and start learning english. I asked myself “What the hell is going on here ?” and start crying. I was scared to death and can’t move…. this caused that I lost my car race on the carpet which make me cry even more….

10 years later when i was crossing the street i heard the same voice again…it was him… mystery voice fullfiled with hate… “it” said i would regret it in the way i can’t even imagine…. and then car almoast run over my cat ! I saved him in very last second.. This accident caused I started to attend english lessons which I had to cover from my own pocket – this meant low paid job over many years… Evety night after that I had nighmares about demons and zombies slowly crawling in my direction….

Few years later Diablo II was released and I forced my uncle to buy it and send it to my country – the game was in english of course… the path of my destiny became clear to me – it was Diablo’s eveliness which made me to study hard to help me understand my future ! When I finally killed Diablo himself I felt huge regret about what I done. Am i possesed by evil forces ?
I was so wrong…

I first played it at a friends PC and was blown away, i played a paladin, i didn’t know what to do at all,

I loved how deep the game can go if you want to, just want to kill stuff sure!
Want to be a very good demon killer? sure!
I still play with friends from time to time, and love this game to death, it’s also one of the few games i really want to put time in, and i think the same will be for Diablo 3 (I’m actually pretty sure!)

Everything Blizzard changed so far from D2 to D3, i love so much and i can’t wait to try it out myself, and that’s one of the reasons i want to join…

Since Warcraft 1 i have been such a big Blizzard fan, and i really want to help them make this game the best game this earth has ever seen, but they probably won’t need my help for that!
but seriously, i really want to help Blizzard but i have never been in a Blizzard game beta before, and I’m so stoked about being able to leave feedback try some stuff out and help shaping the D3 experience, and i hope this post enabled me to do so!

Getting Beta NOW would be really good for me because in a few weeks the Winter semester will start for me. I currently have absolutely nothing to do and have 24/7 time to play Diablo 3. I want to test _every possible_ build.

Diablo really had a great impact on my life. In 1997 I was just 7 years old but watching my Big Brother play Diablo 1 was really cool. Our parents denied me access to the game because they thought it was too grim dark but my Brother led me play in secret.
Since it was in English and I am German it was quite hard at first to understand certain things. Playing through it a couple of times greatly increased my desire to learn the English language.

Now over 10 years later I was able to help my friends pass the English tests here at the University.

Giving me Beta Access would allow me to help my friends yet again and give something back to my brother. I would Share my account with him and my closest friends who are all DieHard Diablo Fans.

I really enjoyed your Diablo 3 stream, shame about the downtime but what can you do ?

The reason why I want to play Diablo 3 ? Well, apart from the fact that I have been a Diablo fan since the first game and never got a chance to play any beta version D1 or D2 so far . . .

The number one reason would be that my girlfriend just moved away to New York and won’t be back until Christmas. When I learned that Diablo 3 would come out in late 2011 (most likely), I told her about it and said that there will probably a few weeks where I will have no time for her once ‘this game’ comes out. I had no idea she would move to New York (neither had she) and now she is really gone and feel a bit foolish for telling her that I would not have time for her . Whenever we skype, she always teases me, that she might not come back because I would only be playing Diablo 3 anyway.)

So, here I stand, an old dog who learned from his past and was not careful what he wished for and If I would be able to participate in the D3 Beta, I could 1) tease her back, HA ! 2) and make the barren months ahead a bit easier to endure

The reason why I should be in the beta is because I have been a hardcore gamer ever since 1983, and provided lots of good feedback to many betas in my days
I killed the Butcher about 100 times in the Demo before D1 was realesed, and I’m probably the only one who can give you a Diablo fact that you didn’t know yet:
The original Diablo 1 was designed to be turn based tactical rpg, before it was experimentally made into the frantic clickfest we know and love today, basically in the last possible moment Hence the griddy design of it, that was originally the grid for the turn based layout.
This awesome genre almost did not get spawned, imagine that. Also consider what you could possibly be preventing from spawning by not giving me that Beta key… :O

I have been waiting for this game for more than a decade. I’ve lived all over the world for work, done a huge variety of things, fought in Iraq, but Diablo has been — oddly enough — one of the only consistencies in my life. The reason I want in the Diablo 3 Beta is the same reason as everyone else, to play the game before anyone else is playing it. I want to be able to gain the knowledge of the game before other players to get the jump start on the game when it launches public. I then will be able to help others in game and through forums. I wish I had a sad story to tell where my cat died in a freak cereal accident, or my girlfriend broke up with me to date a chair instead, or I had cancer — scratch that — a bad cold .. But I really don’t. I’m pretty normal.

The only reason I’d ask you for a Beta Key is because Diablo 2 and Diablo 1 have held my life at ransom for the last decade. They kidnapped me sometime in middle school, and since then have been terribly efficient at ruining my weekends and grade-point average throughout my academia. Without Diablo 2 in my life, I probably would be in the headlines now for curing AIDS or some sort of obscure genital cancer. Instead, here I am, asking for a Diablo 3 beta key on a website about video games.

I think that is telling enough why I think the Beta would be fitting in my hands. Diablo 2 helped me underachieve up to my point of entry into the workforce ; I await for Diablo 3 to further lead me toward irresponsible decisions and sick days that aren’t really sick days. Here goes. Everything in this comment is the 100% truth, and I will absolutely verify it if requested. I humbly beg that whoever is reading this, please take me seriously and consider what I have said.

I am the most dedicated Diablo 3 beta access seeker in existence. This is a fact that I have derived from wide range of empirical evidence and an unquestionable confidence in myself. I have been following the game religiously since it’s initial announcement. I participate in all known D3 forums regularly, check for information updates at least 20 times daily, and check my Bnet account between 10-30 times daily in hopes of receiving a key.

I even submitted a pseudo-job application to Diablofans.com and Diablo.incgamers.com requesting that they put me to work in anyway they see fit so that should they receive any keys in the future, I will have earned my right above all others to claim one. I sent these requests in over a month ago, and in the meantime, proved myself by working for free in anyway I could for the websites. I even earned several mentions and thanks from Flux at Diablo.incgamers.com. Both him and Sixen of Diablofans.com acknowledged my request and recognized my commitment to my goal with respect. I literally will work for a key, and that applies to this site as well. I am NOT joking.

To prove my seriousness and dedication to this goal of receiving a key, I will describe to you a brief summary of my active life over the past 2 weeks.

When the Friends and Family Beta started roughly 2 weeks ago, I decided that it was time to finish my college degree so that I could have as much free time as I need in order to participate in the Beta. The problem, was that I was still 59 credits away from graduating.

For reference, I attend the online school of Western Governors University where I major in Business Management. It is a unique system that allows students, with the approval of their mentors, to schedule as many classes as they want per semester.

With September 30th as the last day of my 6-month semester, I was taking an ENORMOUS risk by scheduling 59 credits worth of classes with less than a month to complete them. My mentor told me that it was unheard of, and that nobody has ever completed that number of classes (11 total) in such a short amount of time.

I literally had to schedule 5 final’s in 5 days. My first final was on Sunday the 18th, and my last final was today. I had a total of 8 days (including the days of the finals themselves) to study for every single final. With the Diablo 3 beta as my motivation, I successfully passed every single final with flying colors.

I literally had to relearn Algebra 2, Geometry, Statiscts, and Trigonometry, on top of learning new courses such as “Quantitative Literacy in Business”, “Organizational Management Structure”, “Quality Operations and Control”, and “Literary and Performing Arts and Humanities” all in 8 days.

On top of all that, I had to write 6 essays, and build 5 different financial and marketing spreadsheets. I am 8 days from the end of my semester, and I have effectively graduated.

My mentor said that this was a record for my school. 59 Credits completed in under 2 weeks. All motivated by my extreme NEED to play Diablo 3 Beta.

Not convinced? I bought my girlfriend a PC so that when the game comes out, she can play with me and I won’t have to ignore her. She is not a gamer, but over the past few months I have forced her to play certain games that will prepare her for Diablo 3. Needless to say, she enjoyed herself

Need more? I collected every single friend with a Bnet account and requested that they enroll in the D3 Beta, and if they receive access, I would gladly be in massive debt to them in any form they desire, should they let me play.

Still not enough? I bought a new $2000 PC JUST to play this game. It put me in significant debt at the time, but I worked my way out

I contacted over 50 people throughout my extended family to find out if any of them had any contacts within Blizzard. My attempts to receive a F&F invite fell through

I have been saving up a sizable chunk of money to offer to the first person who can offer me a legitimate Diablo 3 Beta key.

I have purposely avoided all Diablo 3 beta footage because my heart breaks while trying to watch, and the envy I feel is too much for any person to endure. I also want to keep everything a surprise for when I get my own key.

For further clarification of my dedication to this goal, my heart has been furiously pounding since I discovered you guys are giving away a key. My fingers literally tremble while typing this. This is one of the most important things in my life right now.

You cannot begin to imagine the sheer happiness you would bring to me if you chose me to give the key to. I dream about the game nightly, and it is my first thought when I wake up. My passion is unrivaled, and my dedication is superhuman. When I consider that there is a chance I could check my email tomorrow to find a key, I literally get a chill down my spine.

Diablo 2 was the first game I bought for myself, and i really want to play diablo 3 beta, thanks a lot

I dont feel anyone deserves one over anyone else, however, I believe that certain peoples information may be better served to blizzard than others. I for one (like many), have played most of blizzards original games since the early 90′s until now (that includes Lost Vikings haha!). Playing Diablo one for a few years until the release of D2, which to this day i still play. I believe information, and feedback I could supply to blizzard along with many other faithful D2 players, could really serve to benefit the game/community.

Just about two months ago, I got my first SOJ, out of hundreds and hundreds of hours. Of course I was ecstatic , posted something on GameFaqs (Yes, it was a good site back in the day and I still frequent it!) and of course I was just called a noob and people explained how terrible I was. Ah regardless it was a priceless moment getting that damn ring after so many years.

Hmm since I am scientist, I will make use of that and not my crappy writing abilities!

I also helped out during the live steam, passing on and answering questions to Contra on Skype for most of the evening, or at least the first two hours before the maintenance! Hopefully that’ll give me a little advantage

TL/DR:
the reason i would be a great asset in the Beta is because, not gonna say too much about how I’ve been Loyal exclusively to Blizzard since Human vs Orcs, or how much I’ve been a rocketing fan, but the most wholeheartly dedicated, but ya ain’t the majority of us. Having the opportunity to be in the Beta would definitely mean the world to me, although my studies would devour me in the coming months, and D3 could be that one cure
But ya, How wonderful would it be to be able to put all that dedication and effort into something everyone’s been dreamed of getting into, and share that experience with everyone that’s lucky enough to get in and click fest their way through hordes of baddies. And then share out findings with the public and hopefully answering most of the questions they may have before they are fortunate enough to be invited afterwards. JumpyMonkey did a awsome job answering questions, and Digitalforce is sharing his game experience with more that live in his are, very generous.

My life’s been pretty awsome lately, because i just finished my Diploma in Digital Animation studies, and now i’m in my first year in Game Design/Development, and it will be friken awsome with Diablo 3 being on the front line of development reference. All’s gonna be pretty slick from now onwards.
Just had 2 D2 marathon last weekend with two of my classmate/pals John and Dav and went all the way till Baal, and it was for the sole purpose of hardening out clicking skillz and hope D3 would make good use and enhance that attribute.

Gonna go visit my relatives in Ottawa this thanksgiving, gonna be such warm and giving reunion. Oh ya did you mention you grew up in Ottawa, Ontario Canada, i’m close, Toronto, and half Ottawa at that, good to meet someone of the same city.

And finally to wrap this up before i take off for bed and finish watching your SC2 match.
My most disirable moment from D2 was that having a full crit geared Bowzon, and named her Critbeer, and a full magic find Babarian named Magicbooze, and finally a pure +lightning elemental damage power Sorceress, and named her Zaprum. Mostly about booze,fun,but nothing special, but did not get to make another special one named after Wine, maybe named Wineswhine.
But my most memorable moment in D2 was in a private duel game, we all started to drop gold on the ground in 1 gold increments. A game of 4-5 people, we ended up filling the entire Rogue Camp with 1 gold piles. It took us at least 2 hours, but we did it!
It lagged the game up something chronic, making various onscreen sprites disappear everywhere… we were obviously putting a lot of strain on the server.

For diablo 3 i’d definitely go for the full crit/magic find Barbarian named Whinefmywine, there that would do it for the “Wine” subfix.

Jan. I found out my parents are getting divorced

Feb. my dad backs into my corvette I take it to the bodyshop they “fix” it and ended up breaking more things

Mar. I take my car to get tuned on a dyno they then inform me they blew my engine and they are not paying for it ($5,000) that I do not have and I now pay $600.00/month for car I cannot drive!

Jun. My job promotes someone else where i was the most senior member of the team and most qualified

Aug. My grandfather passes away (like my second father)

Sep. I lose my job due to time off from grandfathers death

I’m pretty much trying to find somthing to do while I’m not looking for new jobs

My son and I have been playing co-op videogames together ever since he could grasp the concept that the “pictures” on the TV screen were moving according to his button presses.

We’ve played everything from Battletoads to Gears of War 1/2. While I didn’t have a father figure to take me fishing or hunting I initially lacked a lot of knowledge on a father/son relationship. However, I can easily say that co-op video games has been produced a great bond and source of entertainment for my son and I.

He is now 11 and has never had the joy of playing a Diablo game at it’s initial release. Unfortunately, while he does enjoy visiting Diablo II, games that have been produced during his generation have offered considerably more hand-holding. Because of this, his initial response to Diablo II was that it was not designed correctly, afterall what games during his generation would intentionally require the player to spend all 100+ possible skill pts into only 5-6 skills??

After much skepticism and a slow start he began to love Diablo 2, not for it’s “strange” game design (from his PoV anyways), but for it’s unique immersion and story.

My son and I finally finished D2 and LoD last week and he has been absolutely ecstatic for Diablo 3! We would both be very appreciative of obtaining early access to what will surely offer us thousands of hours (and possibly dollars, go RMAH!) of fantastic Father/Son bonding time!

Beta or not, this game is going to trump anything else we’ve played together! I hope everyone is as pumped up as us for this! Good luck!!

Played d2 when 1.10 came out and even progressed into 1.11 dropping it for a couple year til 1.13 and did it all over again realizing all accounts were banned after 6 months

Looking forward to the release so I can take a few days off of work and enjoy every second of it!

Why I think I should receive the Diablo 3 Beta.

I could go the altruistic route and say that “I don’t deserve the beta, everyone else does,” but I love this game too much, and of all things I really would like to be selfish on this point.

I’m a devout diablo player, playing back since d1, and I dedicated many many more hours than I should have to d2. I love the franchise, and, unfortunately, don’t feel so strongly about WoW or Starcraft, which means I’ve waited since 2001 for a new game – a new Diablo game to be specific.

I just graduated with my bachelors degree, and to be completely honest, have a lot of time on my hands with all my studies behind me. I’d like to fill my free time by playing the beta, giving feedback, and letting those less fortunate than myself what they can expect from this fantastic game.

1 – I know Diablo since its first release, but could never play it, my family never had money to give me a computer and a friend who introduced me to the game, was playing but would not let me play, I was only looking, then diablo 2 was released and again the same thing happened, my friend had the game and would not let me play, today I’m 23, I studied a lot and have a good job, have a super computer but still can not play Diablo 3 , then I would have the key to end my frustration with this.

2 – I’m Brazilian, and Brazil will be very hard to get keys by Blizzard, so my best hope of winning is playing a key from any site.

I have been playing the Diablo series since the beginning and enjoying every moment of it. I have never really tried to get into a beta until SC2 was coming. I thought why not it will give me something to do until D3 comes out. Well I got into the SC2 beta the day before the ended it. I was able to play 3 games. I felt cheated as to why Blizzard would that. I am wanting to get into the D3 beta so I can give some solid feedback if any is needed. I can’t leave any other comment that no one else hasn’t. I haven’t had a death in the family, i haven’t lost my job, and i’m not out of luck. I’m just a middle class guy who wants to play the beta like anyone else. I’m not going to win it by sympathy.

I’ve played d2 since it came out, around the time i was 14, begging my stepdad to pick it up on the way home from work when it came out. He did and I was hooked. I spent countless hours in catacombs i spent trying to find my guy the legendary “worm skull” in the catacombs (because apparently, according to the forums, that was the most common place it dropped) spent hours leveling my necro online by myself, struggling with some junk build i thought was awesome — i didn’t care however, i just enjoyed the game, loved my necromancer, and just loved being part of the online community….so much so i ended up getting a “curfew” put on my gameplay time — which lets be real here, just lead me to sneak on when they were gone or sleeping. Eventually after my summer break of playing my necro, i had to quit that character because i had crap gear (4 socket ancient armor with perfect rubies) and i was a level 44 in hell mode. It just wasn’t working.

Since then, i obviously haven’t played the entire way through for all these years, but rather in spurts. I learned alot about online gameplay in that time — cow runs, baal runs, glitch runs, “perfect” builds, soj currency. I’ve been throug hit all. I play for a few months at a time, take a break, go back. Something about the game just keeps me wanted more….the simplicity but yet brutal massacring of thousands of monsters is something i crave and can’t explain.

That’s about it. My d2 life. I loved d2 and i know i’ll love d3; i just would like to test it out and possibly share with a few of my real life friends who share the same interest.

I Have played D2 and have been following D3 almost every day. also i havnt found many entertaining video games as of lately and because i am in the midst of swim season i would love something to spice life up. (like D3 beta)
im not going to list a page long reason (though i could) but just know that you would make me a very happy person should i be the lucky winner…. likely happier than any body else here

It’s mostly just all the little things… King Leoric saying “You dare bring the warmth of life into MY tomb?!”. The little companions being all the little critters from D2 (chickens from Act 1, beetles from Act 2, snakes from Act 3, etc.).

I have no special writing skills so I will stick to the basics, I’m an old gamer. As all people in here I played all Blizzard’s game, diablo1-2 big fan. I remember I bought two copies, one for me one for my brother, and we didn’t go to school for like a week.

We played old school lan me as a barb, him as a necro, the room was pretty ugly a week later, but WHAT A GAME!
I just hope that I will feel the same way with D3, and it seems I will. I think that Blizzard’s games made me what I am now: an IT student, eager to be thrown in the game industry, I am actually attending to Ubisoft, it seems that it’s a good start, but the final objective is and was always Blizzard. Some people want to be astronaut, pilot. I want to be a nerd who make games for other nerds!

Hey everyone. My name is Matthew Molloy, and I’ve been a Diablo fan for as long as I can remember. I got into video games in late 1997 after my Dad died. It was a good way to escape the depression and whatnot. I don’t know what I would’ve done without it. Probably would have ended up doing drugs or drinking, but instead ended up “nerding out”. The origianl Diablo was probably what kept me the most busy at the time. It was the first dungeon crawler I ever played, and after that I was a forever-fan of the genre and the Diablo series. When the 2nd game came out things were going a bit better for me. My life was stable and I had a lot of friends. We all played the game together for years (for 8 hours at a time). It was all we did for a few winters. It gets pretty cold in Winnipeg, where I live, so games are a must-have for the winter. I actually still play Diablo 2 to this day, as much as the game has changed. I still love it, and so do a lot of the guys I used to play with years ago. I’ve had the original and the expansion on my Bnet account since you could link them. It’s actually surprising how fun it is even now to play ladder.

Unfortunately, last year, things got bad for me again. I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure just before the summer, and was forced to quit my job and move back in with my parents because of it. I’ve been pretty much bedridden since then. I’ve played WoW since Vanilla, but now I invest pretty much all my time to it, since I can’t really go out and do normal things. I would PREFER to invest my time in Diablo 3, because the Diablo series is my all-time favorite. It’s helped me through good times and hard times in the past. I hope it’ll do the same for me now. Can I wait for the actual release of the game? Yes. I can, and I will. Do I want to? Absolutely not. I would love to get my hands on the Beta right now amd start playing it for 12 hours a day like I used to. All I have is time to sit in bed and game, so why not?

Please consider me for this beta key. It would mean a ton to me, and I would be forever grateful.

Also, I didn’t mean for this to be a sob story.. I’m just being honest.

Diablo 2 was my first rpg experience. I’ve been a fan ever since. Why do i deserve the beta spot? Me and friends used to go to a local lan center to play diablo 1, as not all of us had computers/internet.

I bought my first PC with my own money for diablo 2. I’ve lost countless hours to the series so far, and can’t wait to start losing them all over again(level 95+ hardcore character’s, legit enigma’s etc…).

I want in the beta because I want to experience diablo 3 as soon as possible.

I’m not going to write 75 page appeal on why I DESERVE the beta, because I don’t. I simply want it… no I need it.

My very first game i ever played was Diablo. Playing a Warrior and dealing with with that and then to Daiblo 2 on a laptop playing everywhere i could even on errands with my mom when i was 12, i always loved doing runes and making gear and running people and exploring new ideas and builds when i read on-line(my fav weird build being frozen aura paladin).

Every computer i own has had Diablo,2, expansion on it and has all my single characters That i still actively play over 8+ years. I love diablo 2 and even before beta/information i always played it even while raiding in WoW when i waited for pulls i could be making things in town or farming gear XD.

One of my favorite times in Diablo 2 history is Killing ubers by myself for the first time as a hammerdin with level 1 fana/smite and smiter gear and just the epic fight of taking them on and surviving made me feel so accomplished.

I would honestly love to have the beta key to mostly start working with the stats/monk builds and other classes for friends who are also waiting patiently. I really honestly can not wait for being able to provide feedback on mobs/builds/gear/spirit moves and finish my guide i’ve been working on for monks in the monk forums for at least starting builds and move combinations. The beta for me honestly is a great way to help others and start collecting information for myself to be able to expand knowledge to my friends and people needing help that have not been able to get into the beta yet.

I honestly really love the fact you guys are helping people and giving people a chance to help others and try this out, and i would love to help others as well it just is such a nice gesture from you guys i really appreciate it.

Great streaming video! Thanks for the insight into the beta. I myself am in eager anticipation for Diablo 3, being a long time fan of the franchise. I spent countless hours playing Diablo and even more time playing Diablo II. I also have participated in several Beta tests, two for WoW (WotLK and Cata) as well as SC2.

But my devotion and appreciation for the franchise is not what sets me apart, in truth Diablo (and most Blizzard games) is a family matter. My sister and I are fanatics for their games and she is my near constant companion on their games. She was lucky enough to know someone at Blizzard and now she has access to the beta.

I only get to see my sister about once a year, due to the fact I go to school very far from home. Ever since our guild fell apart in WoW our shared adventures have ceased. This beta would be an excellent opportunity for me to not only play a game I really want to try out, but to also spend some time killing monsters with my family. And in the end, that is really what matters isn’t it? Sitting down and having fun with friends and family, killing monsters and getting loot?

Well here’s my story…. Long time gamer. Started with Warcraft 1, Then played diablo 2 and I was hooked. Line and sinker too. Then in 02 I joined the military, and Around the world I went, and took my trusty laptop with my Copies Of diablo 2. Weeks (and i literally mean weeks) Of playing diablo 2 over the course of my time in the military, From the middle east, to Europe and Asia, My trusty laptop with D2 and LoD there to keep me and the rest of platoon sane. I was hurt in 2009 which took me out of the service, but i had my D2 and LoD there to keep me going.

So you ask ” Do i really deserve beta access?” to be honest probally not, because I never really played one. But I can guarantee that you will not find a person that walks this earth that has as much love for the franchise as I have. thank you

First off not that I´m too lazy to do a huge post, just that I´m too busy watching the stream and rhyme Kung Fu fighting in my head when i see a Monk kicking some hellspawn butt. And then I see a Barbarian and all I can think of is the old schoolbooks when we talked about the old Norse gods and the Vikings from my part of the world. What strikes me about the male Demon Hunter is that he looks like a pretty nice emo hipster version of my favorite class in Diablo II the Assassin and a Amazon. The wicked Witch Doctor keeps me thinking of The Prodigy´s video and one of their best songs Voodoo People, definitely going to play that in the background when
I´m playing him. Hello everyone. This is what comes to mind when I think of Diablo.

India, home, childhood, Diablo: to me, those are all synonyms as they bring back the same memories to my mind. One of the most unique places on planet earth, India has a personality and vibe of its own. As a medical student in the United States, looking back to my childhood in one of Southern India’s small towns is truly a humbling experience. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a household that was able to afford a used and out dated PC, which was an extremely rare commodity in my neck of the woods. However, the electricity needed to the run that beautiful machine was just as scarce. I can recall sitting, waiting and watching my own reflection in the dirt covered off white monitor, hoping for the electricity to come back on. I remember distinctly the joy the thunderous monsoon season brought every year for me and a few friends, because electricity in my town was solely generated by a hydroelectricity dam nearby. Without the rains, we did not have enough water to keep the turbines in the dam functioning to generate electricity for our town. With the thunderous sound of the storms, came not only the life giving rains, but also the demonic hordes that resided within my ancient PC. Playing Diablo 2 was a rare occurrence and I savored every moment of it. All the boys from the neighborhood would gather around and we would take turns slaying the demons that spawned throughout sanctuary. We were delighted, amazed and just in pure awe of the sheer brilliance that is Diablo. And just as abruptly the storms would disappear for another year. The town boys and I would make frequent trips to the artificial lake created by the dam to gauge and estimate how long the water that accumulated during the monsoon would last. Just like the billions of Diablo fans that speculate on the release date, we speculated on how many hours of gameplay we could eke out on the remaining electricity. I have come a long way from my home town to study medicine. However, I would cherish access to the Diablo 3 beta as it would allow me to relive some of the simplest and happiest memories of my life.

I have been playing Blizzard Games for years and have primarily been a follower of the Diablo Universe. From hours and hours of gameplay on the original to 12 hour ladder runs on Diablo 2 and the expansion, I am a true Diablo player. It has followed me from my time as a young teenager to an adult. I remember the first dark moments in Tristram and my first entry underneath the Cathedral. I remember my first steps outside of the Rogue Encampment and the feeling of my first Den of Evil run. These feelings and memories are things I can’t duplicate and will always stay with me. A game? Yeah right. I know Diablo 3 will be no different.

I was in a fairly active clan and when the expansion hit we literally deprived ourselves of sleep and sustenance besides the occasional hot pocket or anything else that was quick and convenient. Many friends met, and hundreds of magic find runs later, I feel like my time and experience with Diablo was the single greatest gaming experience in my life. You want hype for this key? I breathe it and eat it with my wheaties in the mornings.

I want a beta key because I feel like there is an unbearable feeling of anticipation brooding from my inner self constantly. If I were to get a beta key, I would be able to actually relax and enjoy my beta time instead of constantly checking my battle.net account and scouring forums for signs of beta invites confirmations. My Diablo beard is large, unkept, and festering out of control with my lack of self hygiene and endorphins. I am becoming the Lord of Terror because of this, or so my wife tells me. Help the wife guys….

I would like to be a part of the beta so that I can stream videos and comment on all aspects of the game from a hardcore D2 players prospective. So many people seem worried about a lot of the changes that have been made and I would like to get first hand experiance on how all the new systems feel, so that I might reports back to the other D@ fanatics and hopefully to their fears to rest.

Hey, So many comments already but I’ve been watching the stream for a while now but this has gotten me to register on the site and looking forward to staying. That aside, as far as why I deserve a beta key there are MANY reasons!

For starters I am a LONG time diablo fan and blizzard fan in general! Not only that but I am also a caster for the website http://www.imba.tv ! We get 800-1200 viewers regularly when we stream! But thats not all! We are on the starcraft website TeamLiquid and would be put up under the Diablo 3 beta event so that we would get even more viewers exposed to diablo 3! BUT WAIT, THERES MORE! I am also very good friends with another streamer who does team fortress streaming and has well over 2k followers on his twitch.tv channel, and he would probably either let me stream on his channel or send all his viewers over to my stream when I go live with Diablo 3.

So obviously if I was given the key there would be a lot more exposure to the game and of course I would refer all my lovely viewers to this awesome site! Just the least I could do to make it back for y’all giving me the beta key.

I’ve been a fan of Blizzard since 1996 when I was first introduced to the Diablo series, and have been playing Diablo 2 since 2000 (got the xpac in 2003 which made me fall in love all over again, I just wish stores in Nova Scotia kept it in stock so I didn’t have to wait for 2 years to actually get my hands on it, QQ)

My favorite times in the world of Sanctuary was PVPing people in public games with my good ol’ Hammderdin (People always dissed me for my choice of wielding a Wizardspike over OP runewords, but they still got owned)

I stopped playing for a year in 2005 when my friends I LAN’d with became addicted to World Of Warcraft and I had nobody to play Diablo with, But found the love for the great world of Sanctuary again when I found out about this great website called “The PhrozenKeep” I believe it was called that hosted a massive modding community and I downloaded and played a D2 mod called Eastern Sun and Median.

My real reason for wanting to get this beta key is because I built a 2000$ computer two months ago to be able to play it maxed on 1920×1080 (also The Witcher 2 tbh though) and I’m becoming increasingly paranoid I may die of some kind of freak accident before I get to experience Diablo 3…..sad yes….I know…

I have played WoW till my wrist felt like it was going to fall off.

I played Starcraft, Brood War and was even lucky enough to Beta test SCII (as well as playing it after release).

The D3 beta is probably the only game I have any interest in right now and would test it unrelentingly, with a smile on my face with every passing second, hour, day, week, or month (year?) until the game is released.

I have had the game pre-ordered since my girlfriend bought it for me as a Birthday present, and that was in April.

There is no simple way to put this, so I shall start out by saying that I NEED a beta key. This is in no way an over-exaggeration. I live, eat, dream, and bleed Diablo 3. If a giant barbarian were to come to me and randomly decide to cleave my arm, rest assured that the flames of Diablos fiery hell would most definitely come pouring out. But on a serious note: I think about Diablo 3 and playing it about.. every 10 minutes of every day? (I’m being serious, yes I know this may be sad to some people). But I might think about Diablo more than I think about sex, and I think about sex alot! I’m a first year university student that will be studying Game and Software Engineering at Blekinge Institute of Technology for five years.
I just love to analyze, test and exploit programs and games, so if I could be a beta tester for a game like Diablo 3 that would be absolutely wonderful.

I hope you understand that being a in the beta, and being a beta tester means that you are going to play the game and write reports about things that are broken or simply unfinished in the game, so that the final release is going to be as good as it can get. A basic understanding about how the engine works is a plus, and you would surely want try crazy things which might not have been taking into account when the game was written, things which might cause the engine to go crazy.
So if you find a bug, do you know what kind of bug it is, would you be able to reproduce and analyze it, and can you then write a report about it? I hope so, because that is what beta testing is about.

The beta is not for the fanboys so they can play the game before
everyone else, it’s to help blizzard make a great game.
And with a great game comes great responsibility, so whoever gets access to the beta, will it be me or you, go find them bugs!

You could say i’ve been playing blizzard games since i was 5 years old, when i saw Warcraft 1 for the first time. But i was more of an spectator back then, since i was more interested in playing on my Commodore 64

Through my life i was played almost every Blizzard game shortly after it’s release. Since i’m from Poland, the release dates were usually pushed back a little, not to mention that my finances were fickle. But i love almost every game released by them (exception being Wraith of the Lich King ).

Anyway, enough of life story noone is interested in. I would love to participate in the Diablo 3 beta. I would do well as an beta tester, because i’m quite critical when it comes to games. I don’t necesseraly agree with every design decision and i would love to provide some good feedback to Blizzard. It’s not that productive when you have to base all your criticisms on bits of information released on the internet, eh? Eh??

As for funny stories. I’m probably one of the few people in Poland who own the unofficial Polish Translation version! It’s basically an underground, pirated version (don’t worry, i have the original) which was translated by a group of drunken ukrainians. Funniest part is that all npc’s were voiced by one person, who used pitch-shifting programs to fit into roles of female npc’s. The effects are beyond hillarity, but sadly, you have to understand polish to get the jokes… Yeah, doesn’t seem that funny when i put it this way, eh?

My girlfriend and I are both going to play D3, and have been awaiting its release for years. We’re still playing D2 together, and have been absorbing as much D3 info as we can, but nothing would compare to some hands on experience.

Freely admit I wasn’t aware of the site prior to now, but that is what competitions like this develop isn’t it, we sign up, notice the great stuff going and get hooked into it!

Just wanted to throw my hat in for the D3 beta key, Aussie gamer who like many of us in Australia have always had bad lag and issues with any online game especially when it comes to the competitive scene. With the announcement of this client side combat/server side everything else system they apparently have, my guild/friends are starting to show some interest in the game as this could be a deal breaker for them as to whether they want to play this or BF3 when it comes out.

If I can get into the Beta, I can hopefully convince them this is the better game with actual, real game play, rather than just videos! From every blog Ive read, it seems everyone says that once you play it, you’re hooked. I’d really like to get them to experience how awesome this game is going to be!

The reason i want to get the key, is that i have played diablo one and two, and pretty much every single blizzard game, with the exception of warcraft 1 and 2. I love the games the company makes, and want to actually give positive input in the beta, not just play it (although that will be quite awesome too). Why do I deserve a D3 beta key?

Well, back in the day I lost a level 91 hardcore amazon. But I didn’t lose this amazon for any normal reasons: a particularly nasty enchanted variation of Corpsefire in the Den of Evil killed me! I took my friend’s town portal, thinking it was safe – it was the Den of Evil, what could possibly go wrong? Oh, how wrong I was. Corpsefire and his minions surrounded the portal and unleashed a terrible flurry of blows. Half a second later, I was stunned: I dropped the oreo cookie I was in the middle of eating, and couldn’t believe it. Freezazon has been slain by Corpsefire.

Ever since then, I have wanted my revenge. I saw Corpsefire in the Diablo 3 beta, and I must slay him. For Freezazon… and my uneaten orea cookie.

I have played Diablo 1 and Diablo 2. I love the Diablo series and I look forward to getting Diablo 3 at midnight launch. I think I should get the beta key because I have ALOT of free time on my hands as I have only 2 classes. I would be playing for many hours and assisting Blizzard in the beta test. Others want the beta just to “see who I want to roll first” or “which build is best” but that isn’t the point of the beta. So please take that into consideration when you decide who the winner is. I had been in prolonged metal anguish waiting for this beta to start, and once it did, I was almost scared into a state of panic that I may not receive an invite. It’s obviously one of those things that’s completely out of my control, so why on earth was I letting it effect me so? It’s really more then a bit embarrassing that a grown man was actually worried about this. I watched a clip on YouTube yesterday that got me thinking about just how good my life is, and how out of touch with reality I might be. I’m healthy, employed, have a roof over my head, transportation, and am (too) well fed. Yesterday, I decided to put it out of my mind the best I could, and accept my beta fate.

All that being said, if I was to win your contest, it would bring many a smile to my face in the coming weeks and months. Bringing a smile to my face, is relatively easy; for others though, such as a little girl in Brazil with a cleft lip, a normal smile is impossible. An organization called Operation Smile (http://www.operationsmile.org/) is dedicated to helping bring smiles to faces like hers, and can perform the necessary corrective surgery for only 250USD. Oh Diablo… you have swallowed so many hours of my free time in the past…

And number 3 promises to do the very same thing. And I couldn’t be more excited for that!

I got hooked on the Diablo universe with Diablo 1, which I played over by myself and over battle.net (Legit all the way back in ’99!) when I was 14 or 15. I loved the random dungeon crawling, the cool items and the class designs (basic as they were back then) and especially all of the story flavour they added with those booming voices speaking the words from random tomes in the labyrinth. I majored in English at university and I specialized my study quite heavily in medieval literature. The Diablo games were actually a large part of my motivation to move in that direction with my education. And I certainly have no cause to regret that now. No game I’d played before in my life to that point proved to be as entertaining as Diablo 1.

Until Diablo 2 came out that is.
I started up with a barbarian, only getting as far as level 25 or so at in single player at first because my computer was old and slow. But I endured playing a laggy game anyway, because it was still that awesome, and once we upgraded to have enough hard drive room to install for multiplayer, I went to town with every class. The Sorceress was definitely my favourite though, at least until LoD was released (Frozen Orb and Meteor were such awesome skills).

Then I switched over to a Werewolf Druid, using the fast life leech abilities and crazy attack speed to run around at a breakneck pace until max level. I dabbled in hardcore as well, mostly with the Barbarian for some reason, but I never made it all that far in the end.

But back to my point before, I just want to state clearly that what really pulled me into the Diablo games wasn’t the game play alone. It was the story, the world, and the way Blizzard shows that world to the players not just in the game, but outside of it with the extra art content and especially the stories they wrote into the manuals. Those were really my favourite things about playing the Diablo series; knowing where my character was within the world of sanctuary. It made everything I did when I played more meaningful (and more terrifying; “AAAAAAAHHH, FRESH MEAT!” anyone?). Blizzard’s overall creative effort is what made Diablo such a winner with me. And from all the beta information, community website and streaming content I’ve seen so far, Diablo 3 is promising to win me over with just as much creative force as the originals did.

So you can bet I’ll have max level characters from each class with Diablo 3, especially if Inferno difficulty is as challenging as Blizzard is hyping it up to be. It will give me solid motivation to max out different classes and see how they play at the highest difficulty level. And of course I’ll have to try my hand at hardcore with every class for that extra level of challenge.

The anticipation is making me shiver already! I would absolutely LOVE to have my hands on the extra beta key you guys are giving away so I can enjoy the game as Blizzard is presenting it so far. Playing early would also let me provide my feedback on the game play and systems so far. I’m a very detail oriented person, and I do feel like my feedback would be genuinely helpful in rooting out tiny game play and bug issues, but mostly I just really want to play Diablo 3 right the hell now. Why? So that I can brag about it to my friends, tweet about it like crazy, post and link stuff on Facebook (I’m seeing a surprising lack of Diablo beta content on that sphere of the internet actually) as well as on the new tumblr blog I’ll be starting up for myself in the very near future.

For starters I have played most of every Blizzard game they have released. I love everything the company has produced and I doubt D3 will be any different. The thing I like most about Blizzard is that they will not rush a game no matter what kind of flak they receive be it from fans or anything else.

Now on to why you should choose me for the Beta.

I have played the original Diablo as well as Diablo 2 and LOD. I spent most of my afternoons in elementary and middle school playing D2. I have played almost every iteration of character class/combo that D2 has to offer. When I started college I played D2 throughout my…5…years there and until just recently stopped playing it. I have never played a game as long as I have played D2 or garnered as much enjoyment out of it. I want to be in the Diablo world again and see if D3 gives me the same feeling D2 did and still does. I want to see if Blizzard has created another gaming classic. I remember joking with friends about D3 back when it was just a rumour. I told them see you in 5-6 years. Fast foward a few years and here we are the precipice of the games release. I know I will play it when it is released, but being able to be part of the testing and maybe make this game alittle better would be an amazing experience. That is why I want you to choose me.

I want a beta key for several reasons: I need something to talk about on my podcast, I quit WoW, my children are gone and I need to fill the void of my loneliness (see! I’m pulling heart strings!), and I’m desperately lonely…. Well, I’m not that bad. But I really want the beta and I hold out some hope that I’ll end up getting in.

“It is better to give than receive” Far too often do we forget about others and only care about our own personal gain. I seek a beta key not for my own entertainment but to provide in-depth details to others about the less focused on aspects of the game. Such as a quest aid, help services, and tips and tricks on the Diablo cash auction house. Though as few as these reasons are they are a mountainous climb to achieve. I wish to provide specific knowledge on maximizing lovely players profit to aid in this tough economic time.

I remember the first time I played Diablo 1 in the summer of 2000. For whatever reason my grandpa had it on his computer. I spent the entire time we visited on the game. A couple years later I got into Diablo 2 and played the game for over a year without a break. I’m pretty sure my friend and ingested a few tons of mountain dew during the 1.09 patch. I’ve played the game off and on since 1.10 came out.

In the past 3 months, I’ve spent more time on the Diablo: IncGamers site than any other reading everything very meticulously, as well as refreshing the homepage every 5 minutes.

I’d love to enjoy the beta for all it’s worth, and hopefully contribute to the community/developers as much as I cant.

Once when I was very young, when my life mainly consisted of school and television, I’d heard odd crunching and screaming noises coming from the other room. I went to check it out and found my dad playing Diablo. I was completely enthralled and terrified at the magnificent thing. Justifying that there wasn’t too much harm in someone as young as myself seeing him slaughter fake monsters, he showed me more about it and eventually let me try it on my own.

Not long after I’d played through all of the classes, and was extremely agitated at the ending. Luckily for me the sequel was soon to be released. That was the first time I’d ever been that excited about anything (and has only been matched by my enthusiasm when D3 was announced). That Christmas I got my very own computer and copy of the game so that I could play with my dad over battle.net. This was my first real experience with games, and nothing’s been able to match it yet. I was simply addicted, and some of the best times I’ve had with my father were playing D2.

Things have changed since then and my family’s grown more distant, but I still have memories from the brilliant Action RGP that made up the vast majority of my childhood. I’ve been ready for this for 10 years, and I’m ready to send Diablo right back to hell. Again.

Like a lot of the other posters here I have played all the Diablo games pretty hardcore. Why do I deserve a beta key over everyone else?

The truth is I will actually give back to the community like you guys are doing by having live streams/youtube videos/blog posts showcasing much of the beta. Giving a different unique view of the beta helps everyone that can’t get into the beta understand what is going on in the game.

In the past I kinda did the same thing back for World of Warcraft. The community gave excellent feedback and the website grew. I’m really seeing this same type of thing happening with Diablo 3.

My best friend since kindergarten (I’m 29 now) moved to another state and though we talk on the phone and email a bit, our main form of contact is playing Diablo II together. After all these years he still plays a fighter character and I play a caster. I’m hoping to get a beta key so we can both check out Diablo III. Although I still love D2, it’s definitely time for an update. Neither of us have been in a beta before, but I don’t think we’ve been this excited for a game since we heard about Quest for Glory 5 coming out (Quest for Glory is my first gaming love).

But my fondest memories are of Diablo 1, spending hours upon hours duping items in the field near the witch in Tristram. Little did I know that there were programs called “trainers” that made cheating a whole lot simpler. But I got really good at walking back and forth and clicking on the potion on the ground at the right moment. But I could never find another copy of Holy Bolt to dupe, so I had to spam Lvl 14 Holy Bolt several dozen times to take down Diablo.

Once we got ahold of a trainer, we engaged in some good ol’ griefing (my only time, I swear!). Getting around battle.net’s cheating restrictions with an infinite mana cheat + mana shield and AOE spells resulted in some slight annoyance for the poor guys who were just looking to kill some demons. Little did they know that a couple 13-year-olds were pissing their pants with mischievous glee.

Hey! lol i doubt ill get a beta key but I thought i would give this a shot. I first started playing Diablo when i was 5…sitting on my dads lap back in 96…and i have been playing D2 since the day it came out and i am still playing D2 today (Hard core only) so diablo has been a big part of my life. BUUUUT i am leaving for 2 years in 2 months. and i wont be able to play a game or watch a movie or anything for the whole 2 years…my biggest desire is to at least experience the game for a bit before i leave..So theres my plead. sorta like..grant a dream foundation haha! but yeah…if you think im worthy of the key that would be amazing

Diablo 2 was and still is my all time favorite game. I was too young for Diablo 1 when it first came out but I did manage to play it while waiting for Lord of Destruction. I played Warcraft and Warcraft 2 before Diablo 2 – both great games, but Diablo 2 is what made me the Blizzard fan I am today. None of this is why I’d like a beta key though.

Well here is why – on October 13th I’m going in to Yale New Haven for a cardiac catherization. Sounds big and scary, but its not. Had ‘em twice before. Mostly its just exceedingly boring. They go in through your leg so you can’t move for a good day and a half while its healing and there is nothing to do. Hospital TV is the pits, its way too noisy to read, and the only nice thing is that there’s decent internet on the cardiac floors.

Being able to play the beta of my favorite game series would rather lighten what would be a drab couple of days.

I dunno. I’ve loved this game since I first found it on Playstation. That’s right! I didn’t have a PC back in the day, and my best friend found that little gem one day. Man, those were some good times. Some of my favorite memories from that game were when we’d be wandering around, he’d have point. He’d open a door, and – OH CRAP MONSTERS. Well I did what I always do when ‘oh crap monsters.’ I hit my CHAIN LIGHTNING button.

For those of you who don’t know, CL in Diablo 1 fired a single bolt of the standard Lightning spell – per EACH monster you could see. Or at least that’s how I remembered it.

Also, all your spells hit your fellow friendly players.

So what’s the point of all this explanation? My buddy, who was standing in the door way, and also who can’t run away (because I’m standing in the way) gets obliterated by each and every bolt of lightning I throw towards every baddie in that room.

My friend always regretted opening doors before me.

So, why should I get into the beta?

Because even after 7 years of WoW, I still haven’t played any game/series more than I have Diablo. And I’m eager to continue that legacy!

And also, if Blizzard sends me another email that ISN’T a beta invite I think I’m going to have a heart attack o_o; (I’m looking at you, Blizzard Insider #41)

Why do I want a key?
1. I signed up for an account on this site just to post this.
2. I’m a programmer. I will test every mechanic in the game, including random things like trying Barbarian’s leap at random corners 100 times to see if I can go out of bounds.
3. I’m a hardcore gamer. I will test things quickly and efficiently for hours and hours. I won’t stop at 1 run of the Skeleton King. I will keep going until I get rares for every character in every inventory slot just to be the best beta character.
4. I actually post quality feedback when I find bugs, and I post in the feedback forums when I have suggestions.
5. I don’t play WoW like every other person on this planet. I hate MMO’s because they aren’t fast paced. I need constant hack and slash!
6. I don’t want to wait until release to play.
7. I’ve been following every private project for hours after hours, day after day, watching them try to emulate D3 servers and they all suck. Sandboxes blueball you.
8. Diablo 2 Median XL mod is not enough to satisfy my ARPG needs.
9. Watching streams every night to bed is painful.
10. I’d display gameplay to my entire college by playing in the commons on a projector screen and let people play and rotate out every hour or so.
11. I’d be just as nice as you are and perhaps give my key away to another poor soul when I’m done leveling all 5 characters to 13 and getting the best gear available.

I would love to get the beta key for many reasons. First among them is that Diablo is my all time favorite game, I to this day still play it even with all the issues that arise from trying to run Diablo 1 and 2:LoD on a system with Windows 7. I have been playing the series since the first game came out, I was about 7 at the time and have loved it, despite all the nightmares it gave me as a child. The Butcher’s line “Ahh, fresh meat!” still gives me tingles. I am also a full time college student with lots to do, and yet, I still manage to find time to watch every D3 video I can find. Let alone watching the fine streaming job you guys are doing right now. I have been waiting for D3 for a long, long time and the fact that I can’t do anything right now but watch other people have a whole hell of a lot of fun drives me mad, I want in the Beta. If I get this key you will be making one busy, nerdy, guy really happy. Other video games don’t let me vent rage like the Diablo series does, and I want to release my wraith on a whole new type of Diabloage.

I would like a key because Diablo was video game i grew up playing. Diablo was terrifying and so ambiguous as a kid, and i have since played 2 numerous times and read the Novel Legacy of Blood at least 4 times.

With a new year of college starting, i really want play this game to pass time when i’m not studying or hanging out with my friends. I hope you guys respect my humble respect even if i get the key or not.

Hey Guys. Here is my love affair with Diablo 2.

So my computer room used to be underneath the stairs leading into my basement. The ceiling was low and it was cold and dark. My parent were getting divorced, so my step dad used to sleep in the room next door to the aforementioned computer room.
In the middle of the night, after everyone was asleep, I used to sneak into the computer room and play Diablo 2. One night I found out that my step dad was sick of me using all of hie AOL minutes (Yeah you used to pay BY THE MINUTE for internet in the 90s), so he locked the door when he went to bed.
Of course, my solution was to go on a covert mission to retrieve the key and get my MF on. He hid it on the top shelf in his Living room. In all of my infinite wisdom, I climbed on the couch, put my feet on the bottom shelf of the display case, and reached for salvation. I lost my footing because of the socks I was wearing, and I dragged the key down from the shelf. Along with every picture frame, knick knack, piggy bank and miscellaneous NASCAR collectables.
I got my ass beat at 3am for being infactuated with Diablo’s open ended, randomly generated, endless possibilities. Beta key or not, I can’t wait until launch.

Fact. Bears eat beets. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica, Diablo.

To distill the essence of why I would like to be a participant in the beta into mere words is a monumental task unto itself. I want to be in the beta test for Diablo 3 for a myriad of reasons, d2 and my experience in that wonderful game largely influencing them. I’ve been closely following Diablo 3′s progress for the last few years and the recent burst of information has really stirred the nostalgia of playing on open bnet only to discover the hacked items and illegitimacy of the whole thing before switching to closed.

Firstly I would be a liar if I didn’t say I want to play the beta for my own selfish reasons of having fun and getting a sneak peek and leg up on everybody else before the game hits.

Secondly I am quite adept at using “clever game mechanics” and odd styles of play which generally lead to the discovery of bugs that I could then post in the bug forum. After all, the purpose of the beta test is to help polish the game is it not?

Lastly I would use this opportunity to give back to the d2 community that has been helpful for so many years. After all of the information I’ve gleaned from the forums and community sites, whether it be builds, ideas for runs, or the comradery found therein the ability to give my opinion, information, screenshots, and potentially video (though likely prerecorded due to my current internet upload bandwidth streaming may not be an option) as my gift back to the community would be gratifying. This includes not being completely awful at the game, as I know it pains me and others from the community watching beta streams of players that induce fits of deep inner sadness in regards to their player skill.

The reason I deserve the beta…

My story is long, but please, Stay awhile and listen…

Long ago, while I lay awake in my own misery and fear, I saw a “man” approach my desecrated cell with demonic speed. But, as he approached , it was no man that I saw, but the arch-angel Tyrael himself!

Tyrae l(Baal): So, Pitti…at last I find you. I’ve been searching for you for a long time, Pitti. I was rather beginning to think you didn’t want to be found.

Me: Tyrael… Yes… Yes, now I recognize you. I should’ve known you would travel in disguise. They’re… They’re always watching. Oh, forgive me, Tyrael, please. It… wasn’t my fault.

Tyrael (Baal): Not your fault? Tell me Pitti, how was it ‘not your fault’?

Me: The Wanderer… Yes, it was… the Wanderer.

My days at the Rogue Citadel seemed so long ago… I sought refuge from my memories in the company of other outcasts, high in the mountains, past the Eastern gate.

Oh, I’d fought sleep for days at a time… For when I dreamt, the memories would return. Memories of the Monastery, and the Evil which had claimed it! Dreams, memories… I couldn’t tell the difference any more.

Had the Evil from my dreams followed me at my heels? How had he found me here? How could this broken shell of a man, barely able to carry the weight of his own sword, be the Burning Terror which drove me to hide here?

He seemed to have Demons of his own, that he struggled to contain… and he was losing.

As I watched… I… became convinced that I was truly mad. The Terror, the Destruction, the… the Evil I witnessed! How else could I explain them? Were these the Demons from my dream, or were they born… within the Wanderer?

Why did I follow him…? I don’t know. Why do things happen as they do in dreams? All I know is that, when he beckoned… I had to follow him. From that moment, we traveled together, East. Always… into the East.

We traveled East, over the mountains and into the vast deserts of broken lands. As the days passed, my companion told me of himself, that he had once been a great Warrior… and that a dark and secret burden now weighed heavily upon him. We traveled for an eternity across that arid wasteland. How long…? I couldn’t say. And always, a dark cloud seemed to follow us just over the horizon. Finally, the journey ended. We climbed the last bridge. There, below us, lay our destination. The shining jewel, Lut Gholein, with the Great Sea beyond.

We made camp there last night. Perhaps it was the warm desert wind or the sound of the ocean, but for the first time in many weeks… I slept. However, the dreams returned, but these were clearly not my own. I beheld a vision of a great man – the Mage, Tal Rasha. You were there, too, Tyrael. I remember seeing you in my dream. His brethren had caught a Great Demon – Baal, Lord of Destruction, who had been set loose upon the world. They attempted to imprison the Demon within a sacred beta key. Yet, when their attempts failed, Tal Rasha selflessly volunteered to contain the Demon within himself, completing the prison. He instructed his brethren to bind him within the Tomb, buried under the sand, there, to wrestle with the Demon for all eternity.

The next morning,we walked over the hill toward Lut Gholein. I had no idea then… of the horrors that were in store for me there.

My companion drew in the dank, cold air of the Tomb. It seemed to… strengthen him. I stood in the doorway between Light and Dark. What was left of my sanity implored me not to enter. But that voice… was just a whisper now. As we worked our way down, deeper and deeper into the Crypt, I began to see a change in my companion. He seemed to be gaining strength. I could hardly see in the gloom, but my companion seemed to know the way. We came at last to a great hall…

It was then I realized my companion hadn’t been gaining strength. He had been losing what was left of his humanity.

He moved with Demonic speed, and then… then you appeared.

What choice did I have? I ran.

I did as you told me, Tyrael. I found the Temple of the Zakarum. In the deepest recesses of the Temple, I found a dark gathering. My companion, the Wanderer… Tal Rasha… and a great Evil who could only be the Lord of Hatred himself – Mephisto. I heard a voice then… like a thousand needles in my heart…

What I saw then was not meant for mortal eyes…

I heard later that he was defeated, and that the beta keys were destroyed at the Hellforge. All except one…

Oh… Oh, I failed, Tyrael… I couldn’t do as you asked… I couldn’t enter that gate… Forgive me, Tyrael, forgive me…

Tyrael (Baal): Pitti…give me the beta key, and all is forgiven. Give it to me, Pitti.

Me: Take it! Take it, take it! I’m glad this is finally over, Tyrael! Look what the beta key has done to me!

Tyrael (Baal): You haven’t failed, young man…you’ve done exactly as you were meant to do. However…I am not the Archangel Tyrael…

Me: Baal? No… no, no, no, no, no, no, no…
Oh, what’ve I done to deserve this…

Baal: Ha ha ha, You have done well, Pitti. Now I think you should have your reward!

With what little strength I had, I escaped, I escaped the threshold of insanity that I had become accustomed to, I had managed to escape the lord of destruction himself. But in doing so, I left the last beta key…

Now knowing of his death, I wish to recieve what was once rightfully mine!

Diablo II is the game that literally kept me going while deployed in the Marines. My son (now 10) played together a few times a week while in the sand, and it meant everything to me. I look forward to playing Diablo III with him, and he could not be more excited about the beta. I hope to get the beta to spend some time with him, and have a blast with the game itself. Crazy how much of a difference a simple game can make.

I would like to get the Diablo 3 Beta Key because I’m a terminally ill 12 year old. I was rejected by the Make a Wish Foundation because they said I looked too old to be 12. What does white hair and a beard have to do with age anyway? Since the Neverland Ranch is shut down my last dying wish is to play Diablo 3. Well that or a shiny new glove. Shaaamona!

I’m 26, been playing computer games since I was in grade 4 or 5. I can remember my best friend inviting me over to his place and he had this amazing Pentium 1 comp that ran Warcraft II which was pretty much the greatest game ever made… until Diablo of course! I remember going over one day and his older brother had just bought this ‘Diablo’ game. Well we tried it out, he got to play first and I just sat there watching and reading this crazy story in the book about angels fight demons… it was amazing! We switched on and off playing a dungeon level each, till we made it down to the butcher. AHHHH FRESH MEAT! I’ll never forget that line, I can hear it just as clear in my head this many years later…

Skip ahead a few years, I had a decent computer of my own and was so STOKED for Diablo 2 to finally be coming out, I think it was June or July it came out, and I’d been following the game for the last year or so waiting and waiting… I swear in the days before I got my paws on the game box, I was having like LUCID dreams about playing the game. I was so obsessed. Finally getting to play the game for the first time was literally better than any sex I’ve ever had (insert your jokes here!). The point was I’d never wanted anything in my life more than to play that game, as sad as that may sound now haha!

Well I played the hell out of that game, for about 3 or 4 years, starting in SC and getting addicted to Hardcore. I can’t imagine how many hours I spent playing that game, thank god I was still able to pass through school, I actually knew a guy who dropped out because he was so into the game, scary.

Since those days I’ve pretty much been a Blizzard fan, I mean they’ve never made a bad game, something that very few developers can say these days. Now I’m married, just had a little baby boy about a month ago named Titus (he’s big like his dad) and have a great job as an electrician. I know your wondering ‘okay but why do you deserve a beta key?’. Well I can’t really say I’m more deserving than anyone else because obviously everyone here is likely a huge Diablo fan, but I will say that being in school for a couple months I have a lot more time then usual to chill at home with my boy and play games (hey newborns just sleep and eat , so this may be my last chance to play the game without having to wake up at 5am to go to work for 12 hours. I could talk about how I obsessively follow the game on every forum I can find, but lets face it – that’s something we all do.

If I do win, I’d love to play a co-op game with ya!

Diablo 2 was by far the best computer game ever created. How many games allowed you to teleport around listening to the sound of millions of moos per hour….?

I want to test the D3 beta so bad as I am one of the biggest Diablo fans out there and am a freak when it comes to trying to acquire a key! I have plenty of time to test the beta and would love nothing else than to bask in its glory! Diablo 2 is my favorite RPG and computer game of all time. I have never played a game so many times over before and want this so bad! I can’t wait to play a Monk and bring all my milkshakes to the yard! I CAN HAZ BETA KEY!??!?

I remember couple of days before diablo 2 came out. The game had been ripped by some warez team on the internet. So I had the good idea to download the ISO image of the game but the bad thing is that I only had a 56 000bps modem at that time and cable connection wasnt available in my hometown! What I did ?! I went to my mother’s office, and she was actualy working for the government ! And I downloaded the ISO image via their connection there on an FTP site. I remember the network admin at her office who complained about that and my mother got a little in trouble because of me. I was a real idiot but I wanted to play so bad at that time and she did not really know the risks of letting me do this on the network. Anyways.

Now 10 years later. beeing an IT consultant and unemployed person looking for a new contract. I think I have all the time to spend on testing this beautiful BETA version of diablo 3 and this would just make me feel a little nostalgic about that story and the feeling I had when I first played Diablo 2 in the past, that game that I had been waiting for ages….

Well, I’ve been reading the news since D3 was announced. And now that beta started, I’ve been watching too many videos. I’m just blown away by the looks of this game. I find myself hovering over the videos wanting to click things. It’s just so tantalizing! It looks like so much more than I could have even hoped for. I’ve read all the negativity and just brush it off. I guess I’m a fanboi, but it looks like I was justified in that. (At least imo anyway). Anyway, I remember Diablo 1 and 2 quite fondly.

The Diablo series is pretty much the only game that I got my wife to ever play and love as much as I did. (We were just dating at the time) We played many a nights of D1 and D2. So much fun. Dungeon crawling and the inability to stop clicking led to more than a few all-nighters. Nothing like seeing the sun come up and thinking, oh crap perhaps we should go to bed now. So many memories of these games..Hard to choose one..Everyone of course remembers the Butcher and the “oh $#@^!” feeling you got when entering his room. But one of my favorite monsters of D1 was the Spitting Terrors. Man those things were vicious. And we so loved the BLEGH! sound they made. One thing we most remember is the corpse runs after being owned by several of them. But you just keep going back for more. Epic! Diablo2, oh man…who could forget Duriel. Running around in circles going AAAHHHH! Open a portal quick! For the love of Diablo was he hard.

Anyhoo…Like all the other super fans here, I would love to get a beta key. I would certainly put it to good use and probably play way too much. Cheers on the beta key giveaway. I’m certain that anyone here in the comments is worthy of a key. After all, only us super Diablo nerds who are clamoring so badly for this game would be up so late at night typing a memoir just for a slim chance to be chosen.

My name is Casey Hollands, I am now a student at the University of Pittsburgh in my 3rd year studying Physics. The Diablo series has been a huge part of my life and is the reason that I’m a PC gamer to this day. I have many fond memories of playing diablo 2, most notably was the era of running around with some of my friends in HS using 3rd party TPPK programs that we developed for a project in our programming class. It was a blast ruining others lives in hardcore. I know it sounds immoral and is not what was intended by the developers, but it was the most fun I have ever had playing any video game. Hello Everyone!

The reason I would love to have the opportunity to have a Sneak Peak at Diablo 3 is simple. I am chasing a feeling.

When Diablo 2 came out I remember buying it as a teenager for one simple reason; box art. I knew nothing about the game at that time, but when I got home it quickly became my favorite game of all time. I remember dialing in on a 14.4 modem on my Dell Laptop so I could play BNet coop games as often as possible and that was pretty dang often. I remember how the story was so refreshing when compared to other game stories that I had experienced. I remember the excitement of discovery and exploration that made the rest of the world simply melt away as I played along.

While I have played many games in the past, and continue to do so, nothing ever came close to the feeling of awe that I had when playing Diablo 2.

That is why I would love to have the opportunity to have a sneak peak at Diablo 3!

I want this beta invite so bad! Diablo 2 was the game that got me into playing online. I want to be able to continue it with the Diablo 3 beta.

I would love to have a key for the simple fact that this game is severely hampering my life. I have been neglecting my classes, have spent every single science class on my ipad reading diablo.incgamers content and watching beta videos. Even worse to that is that I have been neglecting my wife and my poor little dogs who even right now are staring at me with the saddest eyes you can imagine, only so I can sit here and watch someone else play a beta character who is imaginary and in addition to that won’t even be around after they wipe the characters. EVEN WORSE, is the fact that I am thoroughly enjoying wasting my time drooling over various gameplay aspects of a game that does not even have a set release date, and I am neglecting to write my paper for my English Education course. This essentially means that I am neglecting my duty regarding YOUR childrens education. So all in all, this game is harming the future of our society and your children because it is sucking up time that could be better spent preparing to teach the children of the future literacy and writing. THE WORST thing about all of this, is that I will not stop until the game is released, and if I am going to continue this, by god I really wish I could actually be experiencing the game and beta itself. Games are a dime a dozen these days.. but rarely does a game stand out and say “buy me, play me, and you will be amazed”. Diablo 1 came along, followed by Diablo 2, as well as a few others scattered throughout the years that spoke those words to gamers. But from the genius wizards at Blizzard Entertainment, Diablo 3 has come along, and it’s speaking those words 100 fold… It’s quite possibly the most wanted game for as long as I can remember, and I simply want an early piece of that pie. I want to be able to smash the Skeleton King’s face in, loot his wondrous treasures, and be able to tell my neighbor about it.. I want to be able to salvage a piece of cloth armor from a wandering zombie and polish off Deckard Kain’s bald head with it… I want to be able to grab my follower, drag his scrawny ass to his gear and say to him, “Yes, I want you with me and we are going to do this.
….I want to do it all.

That’s why I would love an early taste of Diablo 3, a game I have been so longing for. What do you call this, you say? Passion.

It’s been a long wait!

Since that glorious day when we heard the Tristram theme played live at the 2008 Blizzard World Wide Invitational a lot has changed:

-I have had 3 different jobs. Waiting tables at a Cracker Barrel to updating Costs for Barge Supply Company to my current job of Accounts Receivable for a German Tourism Company.

-I went from believing I would always be single to meeting and falling in love with my now wife who actually LIKES video games.

-I bought and have paid off my first new Car! A 2009 Honda FIT (40 MPG ftw!)

-My child hood Dogs died at the ripe old age of 17 (in 2009) and 16 (the older ones daughter) in 2010. I then went from thinking I would never want another dog to now having a 7 month old Yorkie-Poo named Murray (for my alma mater, Graduated from Murray State University in 2009).

-I broke my WoW crack addiction in late early 2010. It was the oddest thing, after almost 6 years of playing, showed up to a raid and realized I would rather be playing Diablo 2. I haven’t looked back yet! I guess all things run there course.

** One of the things that hasn’t changed since that amazing day in 2008 is that I keep up-to-date on ALL the latest Diablo 3 news; waiting.. no, salivating for that first hands on experience with the game. A Diablo 3 Beta key would be just as Glorious as that day in 2008 when it all started, even more so!

I was born to play Diablo 3.

I first played the original Diablo in 1998, which began a love affair with the series that continues to this day.

I anxiously waited outside the Gamestop in Knoxville, TN on the morning of June 29, 2000. Diablo II was being released and I HAD to be the first to get my hands on this masterpiece. Afterwards, I missed a lot of school thanks to this wonderful addiction I had developed (fortunately I still managed to pass). It was unlike any other game I had ever played, the thrill of finding that unique ring or roaming through the Chaos Sanctuary with my Amazon in hardcore mode. It was unlike anything else. I was in love.

Then D2X came along. I picked it up on the day of release and frantically began grinding my Druid, climbing the USEast ladder. I never managed to rank, but that didn’t matter. I had a metric ton of fun and enjoyed every minute of it.

I started to really get into PVP combat, and fine-tuned a Sorceress just for that purpose. “SideshowBob” was her name, and she stole the show.

In 2009 I bought my fiance a beautiful sapphire ring, which I nicknamed the “Stone of Jordan”. She is also an avid Diablo fan, so she loved it.

I’m sure many of you have similar stories.

I would use this beta key to play and enjoy the newest installment of the series I have loved for so long, and contribute my knowledge and experiences in beta to the Diablo community and fan-base.

We all deserve that beta key, and I wish everyone luck.

If I were to receive a beta key I would like to do lots of livestreams for the NZ/AUS region fan community as that is where I am currently situated. I’ve noticed that New Zealanders miss out on alot of the livestreams due to the time differences however that is why I would do my best to do live coverage for them as often as I can.

Plus, being in Christchurch and having experienced the earthquakes, I’m sure giving my friends who are also fans the opportunity to play Diablo 3 will help keep their mind off the earthquake stresses and put a good smile on their faces even for a day at least .

Been trying way too hard to think of something clever, but I really need to start doing some homework. I’ve been following Diablo 3 since it was announced, and have been checking out new content/beta info for months on a daily basis in sweet, sweet anticipation. I would definitely play the hell out of the game if I won the key, and within your discretion, would share your name and honorable deeds to my three young sisters (all between the ages of 20-26.)

I love Diablo! I played Diablo I for hundreds of hours as a small child and I returned for Diablo II. It was great, and from what I’ve seen Diablo III will bring just the right mix of nostalgia and freshness. I’d love to play around with the skills, try out builds and get a feel for the game ahead of launch. Makes the waiting so much more bearable. If I got into the beta, that would make me very happy.

I will not lie, i have been preparing my soul for Diabo 3 ever since i was born, even probably in the previous life. If i had a light saber and a hot fairy who flew me to school and back, i would trade those two for diablo 3. Between a portal gun or diablo i would choose d3. My personal reason is actually a surprise for my boyfriend who has always loved Diablo and brings him good memories of his childhood. I think it’d be a good gift for him . He loves the game and is really eager to play it whenever it comes out.

I have been endlessly looking through Diablo 3 Inc Gamers site, official Diablo 3 forums, all three of my emails, and my battle net account in hopes to be accepted into the beta. I first began playing when in Middle School and my best friend showed me a game called diablo 2. Today I am proud to say that I am a true gamer. That game was my gateway game into all of blizzard’s games. I will never forget how Diablo 2 changed my life and all the memories I have running countless baal runs with all of my friends. So why do I want to be in the beta?

Cause Diablo as a series has had a serious impact on me as a gamer. I’ve always absolutely loved video games, but Diablo did something different. Most importantly, it defined for me the way I want to play a game with someone else. There’s nothing better than crawling through dungeons and the bowels of Hell itself with your buddies in the search of powerful treasure. It also helped me discover the fact that I’m obsessed with RPGs. In the Diablo series, you always felt really powerful when you were leveling up your characters, and the way you could customize your characters to your play style was astounding. It allowed for so much replayabillity.

And man, did I replay the crap out of those games.

So now, I’m going to school for computer science, as I would eventually like to start getting into game development so I can be a part of making something so wonderful and unifying as the Diablo series.

Being able to play the beta would not only give me an opportunity to help out with finding bugs, providing feedback, etc., but it would also provide the opportunity to do what I really love and what I want to make my career.

Hmm, funny and creative comment regarding why I deserve the Diablo 3 beta key…

I guess I could explain how I’ve been a loyal blizzard gamer pretty much all my life… For about five years my life revolved around World of Warcraft. That all changed over the summer when the Diablo 3 beta seemed to be right around the corner, or more like, “in a galaxy far, far away…” However, it never came. Nonetheless, I went from nothing, but World of Warcraft, to nothing but watching Diablo 3 YouTube videos, to nothing but beating Diablo I and Diablo 2 on every difficulty, to farming Baal over and over in hell, to crying my heart out when I wasn’t selected on September 20th….

So here I am, hoping, begging actually, that you to select me.

On a more serious note, I want to experience the game first hand and do some bugs hunting in hope of speeding up the beta process, so gamers around the world may be able to see it releasing this year.

I want to play Diablo 3 so bad that for the last like 2 years my most common thought has been, “I hope I don’t die before D3 comes out.” BTW, I hope I don’t die before D3 comes out.

I want cause Diablo Games are my life, the butcher is my brother, skeleton king is my uncle, Baal does not like me very much but Diablo is the Godfather of the family and my protector xD. I play this game since Diablo 1 and I hope the diablo 3 beta also become part of my life. Ahhh I almost forgot Cain is my grandfather . Cheers

I pretty much don’t have much different than to say about my past..I’ve played diablo I and II. I also used to play WOW muchly.

So lets actually hit up that favorite moments shall we?

One of my old old sorceresses from Diablo II. It’s been so long I completely forgot the name of her. But she was made to play specifically with a group of people. We had a slight RP going, so all of us had picked certain limitations in our class. My characters limitations were very simple. I would restrict myself only to ‘mage’ type items or light items.

So we were gaming around very early on..having just killed Black Raven and were raiding the tombs. The paladin in our group was very high and tight holy warrior sort. Lawful good for anyone who played D&D. So while in the tombs our paladin friend kicks over a tomb..I stop..look to him and ask him what he’s doing..dosn’t he honor these graves?

It took him a good minute or two to fumble through a response..but it was nicely rememberable to have him pause and think about his character.

But for a story that is nicely gameplay wise, lets actually hit this up a touch. My favorite way of playing was to have a sorceress who was a tweaker and used charged bolt. Otherwise teleport around, etc.

Playing with my hardcore group again. Our group had a certain game name with a private password. And I was in there having some fun in act 1…I had made the game so I could have all my quests..everyone else was in Act 2..working together. Something happened..probably lag..several people logged out…and then all of us who were left heard the horror. Someone’s death scream. So a mad scramble for saving him began..or rather saving his gear. It was an agreement we all had in our group. The moment we enter we shared our corpse rights. So the two left began tryin to slowly pick towards his corpse..apparently a huge group of enemies..including someone who was LEMS, deadly back in this pre-LOD days. Then one of them dropped…b.net lag…so only one person in act 2 was able to get his gear (and he had unique items…items that you only needed stats to wear…no level requirement….very highly prized). So I continued hearing the screams..people tryin to work their way in..the hoard was too tough…nobody was online who could easily kill..then someone finally came on. He wasn’t like uber high level…but he could work in…then the horror. Person number 2 finally lagged out. Now what to do?

Then we all realized..my level 8 (by now) character had looting rights..if they could get me to him..I could save all of his items. So they began running me through…working to Andarial…working out the safe spot…making sure I could stand where it was safe. Meanwhile our dead friend was complaining of lag spikes..time was short…we had to hurry on this.

Act 2 came up…again they started ferrying me around…it took us ages to get around some of the protections. They were in the canyon..I had to somehow get there. After multiple tries to work around…I couldn’t use a portal to get there directly..the game just wouldn’t allow it at the time. But the harem..that would work. We managed to get around the guard to the harem…I couldportal into the area right below him…worked through the harem. Slowly through the arcane sanctuary. Our friend getting long periods of lag. Into the canyon…we had to find the tomb they died in…again.

We found our way in..and from there clear sailing to his corpse. There he was I saw him..i clicked on him…walked up next to him…and right when I got there b.net kicked him off. Everybody cried..i checked opened up my inventory..yes! I got there right before he got kicked…we all rejoiced as I returned to act 1. The guy who died brought in his new character…and I dropped all of his eq for him. And we left…someones hard to find EQ still saved for a new fight.

Of course we are all here for the same reason. The beta key surely will satisfy someone. At age of 9 I seen my brother playing Diablo 1 and immediately fell in love with this game. No doubt that I was scared of those monsters and dark places but I knew that “they” are the bad guys and my brother needs to fight them and kill the Red Demon(ofc I’m talking about Diablo but then it was just big scary spiky Red Demon for me ;P)

Now I’m 23yo, I played in all blizzard games but Diablo surely was my favorite and still is. Just wan’t to log into this game and kill all skeletons, wraiths,ghosts and zombies that literally ate Warriv! I need to revenge my favorite caravan master asap:) Diablo have to die once(Yea right xD) for all.

The Diablo series has always been my true passion. I enjoy every blizzard game but I still actually play diablo 2 religiously. Being able to participate in the beta would be beyond words.

The reason I would like to get the key is not only just to play it, but I want to help in any way shape or form to make the game be the best it can possibly be. I work with quality assurance and look for bugs in software/applications as a profession. To be able to bring that into Diablo 3, assisting blizzard in finding the last few bugs in the game would just be an amazing experience.

I’ve actually saved my entire 3 weeks vacation this year for Diablo 3 beta… that’s how dedicated I am. I also plan on streaming gameplay with Q&A to bring the beta to as many people as possible.

My most precious Diablo 2 LoD memory was when I created my Smite-A-Din… Paladin using the shield. Well, it wasn’t when I created it, but it was when I started using it for “Torch” runs. I didn’t know what Torches were or Anni was and when my friend told me, but it was the first thing I wanted to obtain after the fact. Thankfully, I created my Smite-A-Din so that it could survive the whole fighting solo – life leach, dmg reduction, etc.. It was really scary, since it was the first time I was ever in those Pandemonium events but I knew the reward was going to be fantastic. So transmute I did, the 3 terror keys, the 3 hate keys, and the 3 destruction keys. Got the eye, horn, and brain – beep – transmute, and went to fight all the bosses in the portal (I definitely prefer Pandemonium events over Inferno btw). So I beat all the bosses and what dropped was a unique large charm (WOW) and I went on to ID it with my precious scroll of identify. Now, I didn’t know that these large charms gave a random +3 to all skills for a RANDOM character. So there I went, un-ID’d it and POOF… +3 to Druid skills – no I didn’t have a Druid – and yes, I wanted a Paladin Torch. SIGH.

Now, since my friend told me that the Anni charm was more promising (+1 to ALL SKILLS REGARDLESS OF YOUR CHARACTER) I then went to try and find ub3r Diablo. My question was HOW? After doing countless Diablo runs, since my friend didn’t know how, I read online that you needed to sell MANY SOJS just to have a CHANCE to summon him. How I reacted to this was “WHYTF WOULD I SELL SO MANY SOJS JUST TO GET A ONE +1 TO ALL SKILLS?” and was completely depressed since it was a total waste of time. Later on, I found out it was to create an incentive for people to sell their duped SOJs so that they would essentially disappear from the economy. My question was – wasn’t it MORE of an incentive for people to dupe to GET the Anni charm? It’s so sad, ’cause I was victim of duping and it totally pissed me off when I traded for items and they disappeared. I just hope this same problem doesn’t persist in Diablo 3.

Why do I believe I deserve the Beta Key? I KNOW I deserve the Beta Key because I recently bought a new computer solely for the purpose of playing the Diablo 3 Beta/playing it when it comes out. The ridiculous story behind this is that when I got my friends over to help me build my computer and installed Starcraft 2 and began to play a few games of it, it froze and my computer randomly started. So my friends and I started to speculate at what might be causing the problem – not updated drivers – video card, motherboard, etc. So I updated all the drivers and I tried it again – but still it froze. So we began testing the 8GB RAM that I had, by testing each 4GB individually. Finally! We thought we found the problem, since the game froze with one, but not the other. So I exchanged the RAM and tried it again and STILL it froze. So I said “You know what, I’m going to exchange the whole thing”. So I went back and exchanged the motherboard, video card, power supply. I replaced all of these and it froze AGAIN. So by this time, I was extremely frustrated and that maybe I was being told that I’m not destined to play Diablo 3. And then it occurred to me what the customer service person at the vendor said: it could be the hard drive, it could be failing. So I replaced the hard drive, and voila! Everything started working. And this is after more than 50 hours of building, rebuilding, installing windows, installing drivers, testing parts – ALL TO PLAY DIABLO 3. So this was the beginning of September in anticipation of it coming out later this month. When the beta keys were released, I HOPED so bad that I was chosen – but I clearly I wasn’t. Now, I’ve been searching for ways to WIN a beta key and hopefully you guys will fulfill that dream. I feel that I’ve gone through SO much just to play this game that if I don’t win this competition that someone really doesn’t want me to play Diablo 3 – my favourite Blizzard game of all time.

I am a music major and I play the french horn which is the best instrument on the planet. My baby boy “Adam” is due Jan 18th 2012 and I couldn’t be more excited!

Just one problem, my personal “lord of terror” will be born right about when (I predict) Diablo will be hitting the shelves… So while most of you guys are hacking through masses of grotesque rotting corpse, I will be duel wielding diapers and baby formula.
As I write this, my baby-momma’s hormones are slowly transforming her into a malicious creature of pure hate. I have removed all sharp objects from the house, but I fear for my own safety. Basically I need an excuse to lock myself away in a dark room for hours at a time… she scares me…

Why i would be a good participant in the beta? I love blizzard games and i love the diablo series especially. I was a beta tester for Diablo 2 and many other blizzard games. I know the job of a beta tester is not to just play the game but to participate in the finding of bugs and other data that would be important to a cleaner release of the game.

I had traded a nearly perfect Eth Zak Pally shield for it, lol. It had dropped for me and being the noob that I was I did not understand its true worth. Until I was told, I was so excited that my character could now teleport everywhere like a sorcerer. I literally screamed in my chair when I saw in game that 9999 SoJ’s had been sold to the merchants. It was so exciting killing monsters never knowing what could drop. Heck, i even introduced my girlfriend to diablo and lost my virginity to her haha. If I was given a diablo 3 beta key I would be so grateful. Even if i am not chosen this is an awesome thing you guys are doing. Best of luck everyone!

My Diablo history: I started gaming on the Sega Genesis, playing the Golden Axe series — my thumb would blister so bad I had to invest in a controller with a turbo button! Similar problems emerged playing Diablo 1… but it was all worth it. That game was epic, but was riddled with hackers — so I played “legit only” public games. I started following pre-release Diablo 2 info religiously (including screenshots of the week!) and lurking the Diabloii.net (IncGamers) forums every day. D2 was released and I was hooked for years. I moved onto WoW (and still I’m still a player), but have been longing to get back into the depths of Hell to battle the Prime Evils once again.

I have several reasons for wanting the beta.
–I want to convince my GF that Diablo 3 kicks ass (she’s a WoW addict).
–I will stream it to convince everyone else out there that D3 is epic.
–I am naming my first character Bubbles (homage to Trailer Park Boys).
–Leoric is taunting me in my dreams — there’s only one way to stop him.

I’m a huge Diablo fan, and I’ve been playing since Diablo1. It was assumed that Diablo 3 would be the big focus at Blizzcon this year, so I’ve purchased tickets and airfare to attend (from NE). To add to my nerdy fandom, I have two large framed Diablo 3 posters (Leoric & Female Wizard) above my computer area.
And now would be a fantastic time for a beta key, as I am recovering from Wisdom teeth extraction (x4), and have a mouth full of gauze just waiting to stream hours of beta gameplay.

I would like to be in beta for Diablo 3 just because I’ve done stress tests before and I’ve always helped the little guy out. If it’s hardcore or softcore I’ll still help anyone out. I’ve put my reserve on the collectors edition for D3 (hopefully there will be one). I understand if other people want to play in the beta and I won’t be disappointed if I don’t get a key. I’ve come to realize that every beta I’ve been registered for from blizzard will never come true but I’ll still show my support for the game. Even when Diablo’s devs split from blizz and went to form Flagship studios I was so happy to see I was in the beta for Hellgate London (Short and sad life they had with that game franchise). I’ve always wanted to play in a beta for Blizzard and if I had my choice it would be Diablo.

Not often is it that I write a paragraph letting somebody know why I would be an excellent candidate for Diablo 3 Beta (actually this is the first time) but I will get right to the point. I have played Diablo since Diablo 1, where you could do the potion drop trick to dupe items (remember that?). When Diablo 2 was announced it was during my War 2 BNE days and I would look up info on the Diablo 2 development and beta. I was not selected for beta but I was lucky enough to play Stress test. I loved it, gem swords baby.

Diablo 2 rolled out and I became a top barb player on D2HCC USWest, PVP and BVB top ladder and everything. Diablo 2 was my life for a lot of my teenage years.

Diablo 3 gets announced after everybody thought Diablo was over. I was so excited to know that I could get back into Diablo and instead of being a top player aim to be THE top barb player on D3.

I have been following the development of Diablo 3 for years, and I just built my diablo 3 machine just to benchmark for the beta… 4.0 AMD 1100T with a GTX 570 video card.. I cant wait to see what Diablo 3 will look like on my computer…

I’ve been listening to my boyfriend talk about D3 ever since I met him (3 years now). I would love to be able to get him a key so he can finally play it. I’ve played it as well but I’m not nearly as hardcore as him. But you better believe that I would be trying D3 out if you were to give us a key! If only when he eventually would need sleep; since I’m sure that he won’t give up his computer for second if he got into the beta.

Why do I want in on the Diablo III Beta? Ever since I first beat Diablo II, many, many years ago, I’ve always wanted more. When DIII was officially announced in 2008, I had a nerdgasm. DIII! It was actually happening! Joy be to the world. I figured that at most I’d be waiting a year and a half to two years after they announced it, from seeing the gameplay trailer etc.

Boy was I wrong.

It’s been 3 years since that announcement, and while the release grows ever nearer, I have yet to get my hands on the game. Watching other people play the Beta has been torture, especially when its clear that they’ve never played a Diablo game before and don’t truly appreciate the access they have that millions would love to have. Its been even worse ever since they announced that the Closed Beta is official. Every time I see I have a new e-mail now I always get disappointed when I see its not from Blizzard with beta access.

I know there is only a small chance of winning this beta key from this contest, but I thought I’d try my luck anyway. I’m a true Diablo fan, through and through, and would be immensely grateful if you were to grant me the Beta key. If not, I understand. It’s luck. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to put my Azure Pants of Charity on (+34% Better Chance of Getting Beta Access).

I am a fan of Diablo since Was very young and used to live in my Banana Republic known as Venezuela, I got my Diablo 1 demo disk from a Spaniard gaming magazine (being Venezuela it meant that a “New” magazine was about 8 months old back issue) and play it again and again and again. By the time I got bored of playing the demo Diablo 2 was around the corner, I broke my Venezuelan burrito-Bank (like I piggy bank) got it on release date (along with an awesome Diablo T-shit).

Time has pass, and while Diablo 2 still has a big place in my heart I am ready to venture in a new quest!

Because after I get the Beta Key I will be playing DIABLO 3 24/7

I have been waiting for 10 years for this game to come out. I have played nearly EVERY Blizzard game even before they changed their name from Silicon and Synapse. The only one I have not played played is Warcraft 3, didn’t have a computer during that time. I think I would be a good pick for the beta key due to the history with Blizzard games as well as being in school for video game design, plus maybe I can use my daily meditation practices to bring my own spirit energy to my monk.

Here is why you should bestow your magic key upon me:

Three years ago, on June 28th 2008 I was sitting at my PC aimlessly wandering the Internets. Along comes an instant message from my best friend. He informs me that the Blizzard worldwide invitational is being held in just a few hours, streaming live from Paris, France. Intrigued, he informs me that the have said that they will announce a new blizzard game being developed. He tells me, “Its gotta be d3! It has to!!!”

Now at this point, my friend and I had been discussing the possibility development of Diablo 3 for years. We had played Diablo 2 hardcore all throughout highschool and in all honesty, if it weren’t for Diablo 2, my best friend and I would never have became friends at all.

We had argued for years how they could be developing a game so far after its predecessor and never even let a peep of it slip online. We had scoured the internet for any trace of a possible d3. We had been fooled momentarily by many of the fake D3 logos that were all of the net.

I stayed up, until after 4:00 p.m. my time to see the scratchy, grainy, laggy live stream from paris. I did not believe that my biggest dream would come true, but instead figured a wow expansion, or starcraft ghost or some such nonsense would be announced. But what the hell? I figured I would stay up just this one night on the off chance that I was able to witness something magical.

Then the invitational began. Some guy in a suit began talking, but before long he said that he had a special announcement to make. To do it, he called out a man with a guitar. The man walked out…slowly. And then, the most beautiful sound came from his guitar. The theme music from tristram in diablo 1. A shiver literally crept down my spine. “YES, YES!!!” I cried, glued to my glowing computer monitor. And as the music continued to play, the first ever footage of diablo 3 was shown to the world. I watched, every scene, every monster being slain. It was one of the most glorious moments of my life.

If you were to give me a beta key it would be the end to my waiting for years at a chance to once again try to save sanctuary from the unending hordes of monsters and undead. It would truly be an honor to play the D3 beta. Thank you for reading.

I want in to Diablo 3 Beta because I have been patiently awaiting to play this game for yeeeeears. My first character will be a Barbarian, just like my first D2 character. I want to get up close and personal with these demons I’m hearing about and really get to know them. Then I shall destroy them.

I want the Diablo III Beta for both my own entertainment and for the community’s benefit.

I have been playing Blizzard games since Warcraft, and I have a unique perspective in that I have played virtually every Blizzard game at a very high if not the highest level of play.

I have also participated in the Diablo II, Warcraft III, TFT, WoW, and SC2 betas, and have provided significant constructive feedback that, I hope, has lead to the development of a better product for the public at large.

Moreover I won’t be someone who simply plays it a little bit and then puts it down. When given the opportunity, I always fully explore the beta to its limits, both to make sure that I learn as much as possible in order to allow myself to play at the highest level upon release, but also to make sure try and uncover every type of bug or issue possible so that a polished product is released.

Hi guys, thx for the opportunity. I would like to get a chance to participate in the beta cuz right now I’m spending most of my time reading, watching and breathing diablo 3. Seriously, I check my inbox every 5 minutes to check if I got a Blizzard email telling me I made it to the beta. I think getting a chance to play would have a major constructive effect on my daily routine. It would soothe my worries, help me be a more centered person.

Why do I want in Diablo III Beta?

Like most others, I too share a passion for the game. Diablo and Diablo II have and always will have some sort of addictive pull. Even after all these years, one day out of the blue, what can only be known as “the itch” creeps up on you. The life of the game is renewed, just as it is every time you pick it up and play again. You can’t help but scratch it by having another go around.

Every time you give in and you play again it’s never the same, and with so many choices it never CAN be the same. Each time you roll a character, you feel compelled to try something you’ve never tried before. You can’t help but reach out of your comfort zone and try something new, even if it’s so insane you get laughed at (anyone remember the Werebear Sorc build?).

I think the best part of the game is the memories it conjures up as you ride the rollercoaster again. You remember every narrow escape, every hard fought victory, every unbelievable moment. You recall the days the RNG was merciful and blessed you with godly drops, and blushing at the embarrassing moments. (did you know you can be killed by the Ghosts near Mephisto after he’s dead? I still remember dying once like that YEARS ago!).

Every time you scratch that itch, you add to those memories, making new friends, making new memories of every adventure. Its the charm of the game really. Diablo and Diablo II a pair of rare oddities, games with infinite replay value.

I want a beta to see if Diablo III holds that charm that its predecessors are known for. I want to see if Blizzard once again made magic and created a game that will last forever, one that we’ll still have memories of playing even after it’s considered not just old, but ancient. I want to explore every class and try out anything and everything that can be done, just because a build isn’t as cookie cutter as everyone else doesn’t mean it can’t be just as if not more effective, if not incredibly fun to play at the same time.

I want more than that though, I want to be a part of the community that helps shape the game, to try and make it was wonderful and incredible as it can be, and let no potential opportunity to make a better game go undiscovered and unexplored. The imaginations of the developers are what make the game, but it is the imaginations of the people who play that game that make it better. I want to make it better.

Why I deserve a beta key?
Like many here, I’m a blizzfan since I was very young. Since I have 5 years to be exact. At that age I had bought my first computer with my first game “Lost Vikings”.
Then came “Warcraft I,” with its human vs orcs, another great game, which did not understand much because I was too young. “Warcraft II”, “Lost Vikings II”, “Blackthorne” All these games were great and always will be.
But one, just one part my life and left his mark forever. That game was the “Diablo I”.
A friend came with your CD of “Diablo” recently bought and played all afternoon that day. I asked him to please lend me a few days.
It was really incredible, and frightening. Their music, their effects (for that time were that good effects whoooooooooo!). Every time I hear the theme music of Tristram, I get goose bumps. It’s amazing how a game can make you think of all those beautiful moments of your childhood.
I remember one time had come to the floor 24, SO CLOSE TO REACH Diablo and suddenly the light goes, and, having forgotten to save my progress, I was screaming for more than 10 minutes (no joke), while my mom came to me to ask what had happened. I replied that it was very close to killing Diablo. Then my mother went into hysterics and broke the CD saying it was evil and that a boy my age should not be playing that.
I never knew how to apologize to my friend when I told him what had happened. I have not spoken to him since.
“Diablo” really made an epoch in my life. Like its predecessor, “Diablo II”.
Why I deserve a beta key? I try a little of this game, and feel the joy that filled my life in my childhood. I want to try and verify that the saga still remains as authentic as it was in its glorious era.

Playing it since I was a kid, the main reason that I became so obssessed with Diablo is that the storyline, music (by Matt Uelman) and cooperate mode (in PS-one) were marvelous. Also, other things that made Diablo unique was the real spooky caves, great database of magic weapons, impaled, mutilated and rotting bodies in the dungeons, demons with reference in old stories, like the Succubus.
I was one of the 50.000 that asked for Blizzard in a petition to make a darker and creepy ambient inside and outside the dungeons. Well, despite the petition, the game seems to be very focused on the story and the caracteristics of a Diablo game, not WoW-like.
My objective playing the Beta will be not only to have fun, but also to ensure other people that the game exceed expectations, even for those (like me, and the majority here posting comments) that have a very critic opinion about the game (of corse, we’re waiting more than 10 years!).

Well, I think I should get into the beta because I will report a lot of bugs, give good feedback and entertain myself for hours .
Also, I’ve been playing Diablo since 2000, even today I’m still playing Diablo 2 regularly, it would be nice if I got into the beta, as I’ve been watching news if Diablo 3 was coming out anytime soon since 2008. As it’s finally here, I’m so excited that Diablo 3 will be released in the next 3-6 month! It’s gonna be so fun! If I don’t get the key, I’ll be fine with that as I still have a chance to get in later on.

I loved the stream too, it has good commentary and some nice little funny bits.

I want in the beta for D3 because I am a starving Ethiopian kid… OK that’s a lie but I feel like I am ready to do just about everything to get into the beta. I’ve read just about everything there is to read about D3, and also watched all there is to watch about D3. I’ve been following the game closely since release, and though I’ve been on the verge of going crazy I feel the time has not been wasted, because the game looks amazing.
I don’t feel entitled at all to the beta but I sure as hell would jump up and down if I got in.

I’m here because someone told me there’d be rainbows and unicorns.

My greatest Diablo moment was actually in Diablo 1. My friend Mike and I were playing it on the PS1 about 2 in the morning. We had not played Diablo in a long time and we forgot about a lot in the game. We made our way down to level 2 and I decided to go through a door to hear the immortal words “AHHH FRESH MEAT”! Freaked out I try running back out the door but by then my friend had moved the screen so I was trapped inside the room with the Butcher and quickly melted. It has been so long since that day but we still reminisce about that night.

I think I should get the beta key because it will go to good use with me. I will play the beta until the game comes out. I will also play live feeds with you when I am invited to them.

Anyway was fun jumping on Skype with you tonight and talking about Diablo and even if I do not get the beta key I will still be around to chat if you want to form a D3 community around your site.

Ok this will have to do. We played HC and I was rushing a non noob friend. At a point in the NM or Hell rush I can’t remember I made a portal to a dangerous area, but I ofc wrote tp ns and I even told him on skype that it was not safe, but even then he went through the damn portal and died. Then we started over but he kept dying to stupid things on his part, so I got irritated due to his carelessness. but on the final character that we got through I killed Diablo for him and lady luck smilled at last when a Griffons dropped with quite good percentages. To date this is my best find(maybe rivalled by some of my annis but otherwise!) and it was all due to a friend of mine noobing out and dying all the time, well indirectly at least.

I want a D3 Beta Key simply because the first two were my favourite games ever. I’m more than an avid gamer but nothing has ever grabbed me like Diablo 2 did (unfortunately to my high school results).

I’ve been with Blizzard since near on the beginning, but so have many others. I don’t think anyone deserves one more than anyone else… but I think I want one just as much Plus I’ve got a week and a half of holidays at the moment with time to kill

I desire this beta within the midist of thy loins since thee first axe of mine Diablos 2 Barbarian hit the first zombie skull. The exploding, leeping and twirling of a magnificient magnitude always get my genetalia so fantastically rock like. I desire to be the bestest darn tootin demon devouring, monster mashing, axe smashing barbarian there is. The only desire that might be deeper than this is the desire to equip a legendary 6 string banjo and smash it through the Skeleton Kings FACE! With the mightiest thrust of my big, buff, beefy, bammin, barbarian body I shall slay every monster within the furthest crevice of the meteor that smashed into my lovely small town Tristram. THAT, is how bad I want this Diablo 3 beta key.

The Funniest and most memorable Diablo 2 memory was one time with my dear friend Bubba, We were running some chaos runs (public runs). We had just passed by the pentagon where Diablo spawns to get to the other side and light the other seal. When we had passed by the pentagon where Diablo spawns nothing was lying on the ground. When we came back to kill Diablo after lighting the seal there was ALOT of gold on the ground, all in 1 gold portion groups. they had throw so much down that it formed a perfect square, but what lied within the square to our hilarity was a Swastika, Yes a swastika. We laughed so hard and it made such an impact on us. that we had made MANY attempts to make our own Swastika with gold. Onto Diablo as a game — I’ve always loved Diablo. I was completely besotted by the free reins that players were given to create our characters. I love pushing the boundaries of what my characters were *supposed* to do, and what they *could* do.

My first objective as soon as I get my hands on the game is to stress each possible quirky build or item, with every class.

The one I want to try out the most is that Barb passive, Relentless, which makes your abilities Fury-free while under 20% of your life. That just asks to be broken, getting yourself with a few HP and then spamming Weapon Throw, Call of the Ancients, Earthquake, etc.

I love, and have loved diablo, since it’s nascent release back in 96. It’s my favorite blizzard franchise by leaps and bounds. I remember faking injuries in elementary school to go home so I could flee from the butcher like a little girl from the papacy… Until you close a door behind him and lay down some 1337 strat firewalls from the other side of a gated wall. My 12 year-old self was awesome.

My favorite memory that expresses my love for Diablo is short but sweet. My longest relationship of 3 years (back in high school) is near and dear to me. However, one large factor in the end of that relationship was gaming… More specifically, meph runs and bovine bbq ala Tristram. So basically, I sacrifice profound personal relationships for Diablo. Insensitive? Maybe. Asocial? Absolutely. But the only way D2 could ever hurt me was taking some gold and durability loss. No matter how late it was or how tired my rig, Battle.net was ready and raring to go.

If that was wrong, I don’t want to be right.

I love diablo. I won’t pretend to think I love it any less or more than the rest of the blizzcore nerds that scour these forums for any inkling of news, or discuss class balance and lore. I’ve done some closed beta testing for rift, vanilla wow, sc2 etcetera, but I think I can offer something a little different. Objectivity. I will look with eyes unclouded by fanboyism or cynicism. I don’t imagine theirs a perfect sheen over the game despite how giddy it would make me. As awesome as D3 is, their are no sacred Cow Kings (see what I did there?) I love games, period. But I’m not afraid to give them some HARD love… That came out wrong… I’ll continue… Whether mastering Kara cancels in 3rd strike, coming to grips with how far a proxy gate rush can take you up the ladder, Or surviving big boss extreme with no alarms or kills, I dedicate myself to franchises worth such dedication. I know deep down in my withered, dried out heart that D3 is worth it. I want to do everything I can to help make this a better game for everyone. I want sanctuary newborns to feel how I felt when I first played Diablo.

I deserve the beta because I’m a long time blizzard fan and not only that I enjoy games in general. I did various beta testing for other closed beta testing and provided solid feedback. With me being in beta. I’ll make sure Blizzard fixes all the bugs before launch.

I have been gaming for more than 25 years. I spent about six years playing Diablo II, building a poison necro up to a five-digit nova over a year or so.. Even through all that, the highest rune I ever saw drop was a vex.

That’s why I loved it. The sheer torture of it all, knowing you could slay a billion mobs and still never see a Zod rune.

The height of my excitement with d2 though came from my first uber diablo solo kill. I was running the chaos sanctuary for socketed armor pieces.. when suddenly..

DIABLO WALKS THE EARTH!!!

i nearly shit my pants with glee! I shoot to act 5 and he spawns where eldritch the rectifier should be. I cast lower resist and nova the shit out of him.. for a good 30 minutes or so. I hadn’t acquired a lot of +skill charms at this point, so my damage was pretty low for this sort of thing. I nearly ran out of gold in my many trips to town for mana pots, but I held out just long enough to see the beast drop. My whole body is vibrating with anticipation as i hover over the unidentified small charm..

I nestle the artifact snugly into my pack, head to town and seek the council of Deckard Cain. That asshole has the nerve to tell me that the charm I found is for a druid, and its stats are 13/12.

And to think, I saved this guy’s ass, and he has the nerve to give me this bullshit news.

He slaps me on the back, assures me that I will have better luck next time, and tells me that I should stay awhile and listen..

I have attended every single Blizzcon hoping for D3 information. The first year was agony for that.. hopes crushed as soon as you walked in… As soon as they started showing off the alpha versions, I would stand in the lines all day long, waiting a half hour to over an hour to play for ten minutes.. It is safe to surmise that I will play the beta like a madman.

Casting would come naturally to me, as I work as an announcer and have a sharp sense of humor. I won prizes at Blizzcon on two separate occasions for impersonating World of Warcraft characters (namely for the Troll laugh). My skills of mimicry are seldom rivaled. I take requests and will astound you with my range.

I have the fortitude to play for hours on end, all the while entertaining anyone within earshot..

I have worked for a female oil wrestling show and will provide pictures of said event should my name be selected.

I have played Diablo from the very beginning of the series. Countless nights were spent killing the Butcher, hating Wirt, wishing Griswold would come down in prices, and listening to Cain talk.

Starting Diablo 2 and following it up with Lord of Destruction was my next path. I drug my friends into D2:LOD – and have clocked more hours than I care to say killing cows, running Mephisto magic find runs, random hostile PvPing people in the Blood Moore, and enjoying the company of friends in hardcore. We laughed at Wirt being dead (as he did deserve this…), were torn about killing old Griswold, and were well…. still “Staying a while” to listen to Cain.

The Diablo series has been my starting point and backbone of my love for gaming and I would be thrilled at a chance to move into the next chapter of Sanctuary’s struggle for survival.

I was going to go on and on about having a terminal illness and only have a month or so to live, and that the beta might be the only possible way I could ever play the game I’ve waited 11 or so years for. But I felt as if lying about it would give me bad Karma and I definitely wouldn’t get it.

Like everyone else I played D1, D2, and the expansion.(druid ftw). My friends and I would play for days, I equate D2 to the reason why i needed summer school for a couple years. To this day it is my favorite game, Games like COD, God of war, WOW and the like are good but so far nothing, not one game has given me the level of joy, fun etc that Diablo 2 has. And I’ve never felt as passionate about a game as i do for it.
I’ll gladly wait for the day its released, but to be able to be apart of the beta, testing it and playing it early would really add to the feeling of being a part of the diablo world.

For years now, there have been rumors about diablo 3, a lot of rumors. Every time, I felt like “Oh my god, is that really true ?”. But it never was.

Now this is official, as your team, this game has been a dream for me too. And it is still a dream for me.

I played diablo, and I played diablo 2 a lot, even month ago I was still playing, still enjoying the game.

I’m not as delusional as to believe I deserve the beta more than any other fan (and there probably are people who deserve it more) and I know there are people out there who at least want it as much as I do.
That said I really really want it and my reasons are numerous and diverse. Partly I want it ’cause I enjoy game testing. Getting a glimpse of behind the scenes via an unfinished product and playing a part, however miniscule, in it’s completion gives me immense satisfaction.
Another part is I absolutely adore the art direction and would be delighted to see it in motion on my monitor.
Yet another part is that it simply looks like a massive, colossal, titanic amount of fun to play.

I don’t know if I am the best suited for the beta test, but I know that I am a rather big fan of the Diablo series. When I was about 8-10 years, me and my friend were actually LAN’ing Diablo I before we even knew what LAN meant or what we were doing. A couple of years later my brother’s friend introduced me to Diablo II, which me and my friend got hooked on almost instantly. He’s always been playing the mage-type of class while I’ve been playing the melee/ranged-type of class.

I’ve been hacked and scammed so many times on DIablo II it’s almost funny and quite embarrasing actually. Being 12 years old, I mean of course you wanted “Free Windforce” and I fell for it over and over again. Well, boys will be boys. As I grew older I started to realize that I wouldn’t get that free windforce and just started to play the way you are supposed to.

I wasn’t the best nor very good at playing Diablo, even though I continued playing after every death and scam. Just because I loved the game. The friend who I was LANing with also played Diablo II with me, and we’ve had a lot of fun through out the years. When Diablo III actually releases we will once again meet in Tristam and fight Diablo’s minions together.

As of now both my friend and I have been checking forums, updating e-mail, updating the b.net account and watching so many gameplay videos that I’ve lost count. Hoping for at least one of us getting into the beta. Why I should participate in the beta? So I can test the crap out of that game and share my gaming experience with my loyal Wizard-friend. Because I know we will do a good job.

Why should I receive a diablo 3 beta key?

I started using drugs in my early teens like many other people do, introduced to it by my friends and then gradually becoming addicted to it. I thought life was one big raid party until these parties started taking over my life.

By 16 years old I had dropped out of school and began a downhill spiral that never stopped. Getting hired one week and then getting fired or quitting within a month, never having any money and constantly being dependent on my family to pay the monthly online fees. My only friends I met through ventrilo and forums and even my family wont talk to me.

Later in life I found out about other drugs made by the same company, which turned out to be the worst thing I could have ever done. F. good memories I could tell you stories about our first play through but we all know how good it was.

Why i want to be in the Diablo 3 beta?

Well that answer is simple i just came out of the hospital see pic. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/651/joeyinbed.jpg/ and need 3 months of bed rest, and what the hell will i entertain myself whit during that bed time a laptop whit Diablo 3 of course!

I had an accident 2 weeks back on my bike result is, broken leg, mild concussion and something weird in my lower back which needs 3 months of rest to recover fully.
But both my arms and hands are fine to game!! and the only remedy to get me back and going is Diablo 3 beta of course so please pick me .

Wow, it is really hard to top previous 480 stories – I’m just really don’t want to finish my dissertation, and granting me a D3 beta key is a surefire way to prevent me from doing anything useful for my study. But that’s ok, because it’s alright do go absolutely mental over Diablo. And I have been doing just that for years, beating Diablo in Diablo 1 on a lan just before my parents switched off all the electricity to our floor because we had been playing for a week is my first real gaming memory. And once you’re hooked…
