Hmmm…the reason why I feel that I deserve a Diablo III Beta key? I, like countless thousands of others, have followed the development of this game since it was announced. I have been a long time fan of the series. Having played both Diablo and Diablo II LOD since they both launched. For a brief time I worked in the gaming industry (retail level) and was present on the day that Diablo II launched. Just seeing the enthusiasm from the fans in person was an incredible experience.

Diablo II has become an on again off again mistress of mine ever since and the wait for Diablo III has been quite the long one.

If I am given a key, I intend not only to pour over every inch of the map, wide-eyed and amazed but also with the courage to render an opinion on the good and the bad. I have watched many hours of streams and uploaded vids and have a good idea as to what to expect but as we all know…being the driver seat is a completely different thing than just spectating.

Forever hopeful…

Hi Contra,
First of all I really appreciate what you’re doing for the community giving away a key in these desperate times. My name is Brett, I’ve been a devoted Blizzard gamer for a long time, played every game they’ve made including buying D2 about 3 or 4 times for myself and friends. Let’s get down to business though…Why do I deserve a beta key? I think I have a unique reason…

Like most of the people here, I’ve been addicted to D3 news lately waiting for beta, learning about classes and trying to come up with interesting builds using the calculator. One day I was reading forums, etc like normal and the great news comes out that the closed beta has finally started!

With palms sweaty I logged into my battle.net account….a single tear fell from my eye as I saw that I had no beta key. Desperate to discover the reason I looked over my account information. Specs look good…but I notice that my address is out of date. Surely it wouldn’t matter, but I updated it.

Well, back to the forums to suffer the whine-fest of all those (aka everyone) who didn’t get invites. Part way through a half hearted troll post i notice my gmail account increment the number of emails in my inbox…surely I must now be in the beta!

I click the tab for my gmail acount….MY GOD IT HAS HAPPENED! I see an email from Blizzard, a mere 20 minutes after beta has started and I’m in! I click the email, nerd chills running through my body. My eyes gleam as I read:

“Hello Brett,
This is an automated notification regarding your Battle.net account. Some or all of your contact information was recently modified through Battle.net Account Management. If you recently made changes to your account information, please disregard this automatic notification.”

I collapse to the ground and realize…I have just performed the greatest self troll known to man. This is why I deserve to be in the beta. Anyone can troll, it takes special talent to troll yourself.

You Guys ROCK!.
Great Attitude.

In first place, sorry for my bad english.

I Love MONKEY ISLAND SERIES, i dont know why i wrote this..lol

Well, I Played Diablo since “Diablo I”, played A LOT of D2.
I Hope i’ll play D3 too, i expect a Great game.

Why i derseve a key?

I do not deserve more than anyone, but if I receive will make the most, and of course as a good beta-tester, make the most of the beta, and share the best way possible and report the bugs .. lol
But anyway, anyone who wins, will make good profit.
Thanks again for the good attitude.

I would love a beta key!

My favorite memories and stories from D2 came from playing through the Cow level for the first time. I couldn’t stop laughing at the Cow “Moo Moo” noise and how ridiculous the level was. So much fun!

Good luck to all!

Hello good sir

The first blizzard game i played was lost vikings(actually back then it was Silicon & Synapse) and then the warcraft series followed afterwards and i have pretty much played every game from blizzard after that. I don’t even know how many times i finished diablo 1 on single player as warrior(I really love meele <3) and when d2 came out i was really hooked, i think i pretty much only played that game for 3 or 4 years straight, best memories from video game playing so far. And now d3 is coming out and i feel like a kid who is anxiously waiting to open the presents under the christmas tree and i can't remember having that feeling in years.

Now do I deserve a beta key more than others? Ofcourse not, there are numerous fans out there who have similar gaming carrier as me and deserve it just as much, but however will say this, I would be forever grateful if i would be the lucky one to get a key

ps: sorry for the bad english, im from iceland.

Mar. I take my car to get tuned on a dyno they then inform me they blew my engine and they are not paying for it ($5,000) that I do not have and I now pay $600.00/month for car I cannot drive!

Jun. My job promotes someone else where i was the most senior member of the team and most qualified

Aug. My grandfather passes away (like my second father)

Sep. I lose my job due to time off from grandfathers death

I’m pretty much trying to find somthing to do while I’m not looking for new jobs

Thanks much,
Gary

Appreciate the feed and the potential shot at a beta key. Everyone here is obviously well deserving but to be considered is all I ask.

I can promise I’ll play the game, provide feedback to the community and enjoy it.

That’s I’ll I’ve got gentlemen.

Oh and I found out the secret to the chat gem. It’s true.

Quite frankly, I don’t play Diablo 3 but my boyfriend absolutely LOVES it. Like..lives and breathes it. He gets up in the morning and before he checks his email, he checks D3 forums. I often call Diablo 3 the “Other Woman” because he and D3 are involved. Better than a living breathing chick, right? Yeah, I would be the best girlfriend in the world if I could snag him a beta key for D3. you guys should help me achieve best girlfriend status. I would love you. He (My bf) would love you too.

You know you want our love.

Jessica S.

I’d rather you send the beta key…if I get the beta key…to my boyfriend’s email. That would mean the world. Here it is.

Oh and his name is Michael P. My boyfriend that is.

I would also like a beta key, since English is not my native language I wouldn’t torture any reader by writing a long post.
Anyways, Diablo serie is always one of my favorite game, and I would love to have a beta key.

The music, the nostalgia, the endless nights whittled away to force back the hordes of hell and find the next great epic item…Wirt’s leg, Deckard Cain, Cow madness, the ladder race…and so it went. Being part of a franchise that defined a genre, has created friends and memories that span more than a decade, that has left an insatiable desire for the next chapter in the story. By Tyriel, I am pumped for the new memories waiting to be made, by the new challenges, the rise to power, and the slaying of hell’s hordes with new friends and old ones. I hope to make it in, I hope to make it better, I look forward to call to arms, and the beginning of a new epic saga at the battle front. Thanks for the chance.

I would love to get the beta key for many reasons. First among them is that Diablo is my all time favorite game, I to this day still play it even with all the issues that arise from trying to run Diablo 1 and 2:LoD on a system with Windows 7. I have been playing the series since the first game came out, I was about 7 at the time and have loved it, despite all the nightmares it gave me as a child. The Butcher’s line “Ahh, fresh meat!” still gives me tingles. I am also a full time college student with lots to do, and yet, I still manage to find time to watch every D3 video I can find. Let alone watching the fine streaming job you guys are doing right now. I have been waiting for D3 for a long, long time and the fact that I can’t do anything right now but watch other people have a whole hell of a lot of fun drives me mad, I want in the Beta. If I get this key you will be making one busy, nerdy, guy really happy. Other video games don’t let me vent rage like the Diablo series does, and I want to release my wraith on a whole new type of Diabloage.

Hey i would really appreciate having a beta key, I like most others have been waiting 11 years and diablo 2 was a huge part of my life and if i got a beta key i would spend a ridiculous amount of time playing. If blizzard was looking to weed out bugs or test balance in the beta i would list that as a reason to give me the key. But they aren’t so really the only reason to give me the key is that i have been devotedly tracking the development of this game from the second it was announced and i have played every single blizzard game title, so i would say i deserve it slightly more than the majority of players who probably would play it once or twice through and then would just go back to playing WoW or SC2.

I would love to get my hands on the beta key, just like the next guy writing below or above me. I’d do anything for it, so if you need anything, you car washed, your laundry done, your dishes, if you need dog walkers, I’ll do it for a Diablo 3 Beta!!! Anything at all, so just ask!!! :)
Thanks for the opportunity!

I would really like to get a beta key. I’ve been following the game since it got announced at Blizzcon, I played Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 dozens of time, I read all Diablo books. I’m a real fan of Diablo. Having a beta key for me means a lot! You can count on me to find bugs and beat the beta hundreds of time before the release :)

Thanks for hosting this live stream — very cool.

I deserve the D3 key because I just posted an announcment of this live stream on my website (http://ancientavenger.com/2011/09/diablo-3-beta-key-giveaway/) and on Twitter.

Furthermore, I’ll share all of my beta experiences and opinions of the game on my site. I’ll make the most of it in other words.

Another reason why you should sponsor my beta inclusion is so that I can give my opinion of the game play from the perspective of a mac user. I’ve not seen any reviews or videos from beta testers who are playing D3 on a mac.

Lastly, I am a hardcore Diablo fan who’s finished the first Diablo multiple times, spent 6 1/2 years playing Diablo II on Battle.net, leveled every class past 80, and had a Frenzy Barb I used to solo the ubers with. Not sure how hardcore that is to most, but I’d consider it pretty HC. ;)

Regardless, great job with the site, and thanks for offering this promotion.

Cheers.

Excellent promotional tool, friend. And I, too, thank incgamers for pointing the spotlight toward you. After listening for just a few short minutes, you make the beta sound foun and you’re having a blast. All too often, commentaries for games degrade into frustration and complaints. You’re making the game look great. That’s what it’s all about.

To the point: If asked bluntly whether I “deserved” a beta key, the answer I’d give grudgingly would be, “…No…”

I realize that the beta’s out there to test certain scenarios. Truthfully, if I were to play the beta I wouldn’t fit any of those situations.

First, I have an aging gaming computer. While it’s certainly not top-of-the-line, the hardware is quite “average” or “standard.” Nothing will stress the game itself either with low or super high quality.

Also, I’d consider myself to be a solo player. I usually enjoy myself more when I play alone versus joining others. I’d try the in-game match making system, but I’d surely play by myself most of the time.

In the same vein, I doubt I’d do much with the Auction House. I’d use it because I’m SUPPOSED to in order to test the system. However, I’m the type of guy who likes going self-found, and once D3 is released I have no real desire to improve my character or gear through outside sources.

Lastly, I’m a big fan of Diablo II. I’ve been playing it for almost ten years (off and on, of course), and I consider it to be my favorite game of all time. If the beta is out there to introduce new players to the franchise and test the basic functions with those who are unfamiliar with the game’s controls, then I’m probably one of the last people who should be included in the beta.

In summation, I shouldn’t be one of the beta testers. There’s no real need for me to be playing since I can’t contribute much to the feedback that Blizzard is most wanting.

…That said…

I’d play the D3 beta. A lot. And I mean, A LOT. Blizzard wants feedback on how the game runs. And I’d give it, surely. What’s more is that the Diablo community wants feedback, too. And that’s why I’d love to have access to this beta.

I think I’ve seen a lot of what can go wrong in games since I’ve been functionally addicted to them for the greater part of three decades. I’ve played a ton of aRPGs and I’m very familiar with the systems they include. And if there’s any type of game I can break and test for bugs, it would be this one. I might not test the systems that Blizzard needs testing, but I can surely push the game itself.

Since the D3 fan base is drooling for coverage, I’d utilize the opportunity to play the beta and produce as much information as I could. I’m a devoted follower/contributor to diablo(dot)incgamers(dot)com, and through them I’d try to share all of my experiences. I’d be ecstatic to be able to bring joy to those who aren’t yet able to enjoy the beta themselves.

That, and I’d pimp your site in every possible place I know for a year straight, long after D3′s been released. You’d be more well known than I am.

Some people would play the beta only because they’re dying to try the game. Not me. That would hold true for me, too… I won’t deny that statement. But I’d treat the beta with more respect. I’d bug test. I’d share my findings with Blizzard. I’d write articles and submit them to fan sites. I’d make videos with whatever content anyone would ask of me.

…And I’d love every minute of it.

Thank you very much for offering this beta key. It’s extremely generous of you. I can only hope that your choice in a lucky winner will do more with it than play it for a few hours, get bored, and go back to some crappy online FPS. And thank you for reading all of our posts.

Good luck, and have fun in Diablo III !!!

P.S.: WoW Radio?! Hah!! No kidding… good times, friend. Good times.

The reason I want a D3 beta key? Like other submissions, the main reason is submission. I’d like to take this chance to elaborate about my hystory with Diablo 2.

The thing I want to say about D2 isn’t about my gameplay experience. It’s actually about how it has affected my real life. I’m from a Dutch family with 6 children (I know, very rare these days). I have 3 older brothers, 1 younger brother and 1 little sister. My older brothers have always been into gaming, I can still remember them booting up the commodore64., I’ve always been the exception at home.. I thought gaming just wasn’t for me.

1. They tried to get me into Batman ’64, for the Commodore. I told them; “I’m sorry, this just isn’t for me.. I like the cartoon, but this game sucks”.

2. They tried to get me into Red Alert (PC), I told them: sorry, this doesn’t appeal to me at all. I’d rather play football with my friends.

3. They tried to get me to play Mario Kart 64 (N64). (“Dude, we just need 1 more player, please take this controller”) Once again, I told them: “Sorry guys, gaming is just not for me I guess”.

4. They showed me the Diablo 2 demo. At first I told them how I was not interested at all. When my oldest brother was gone, I decided to give this game a go.. Running that barbarian through act 1 changed my life. I think I didn’t even killed Blood Raven, since I was so new to gaming.. However, this was the thing that got me into playing video games! I remember the countless nights where we would hook up a lang game with all four brothers, playing the game until we were dead-tired :) Such good times, real nostalgia there. We actually had a fight over who got to play the barbarian, since we all loved him so much.. At one point, we played 4 barbarians at once.. We couldn’t even get to hell mode.

The thing that really bugs me from here on, is that my 3 brothers are all older than me. At this moment, I’m 22 years old. My brothers are ranged from 25-32 years old. I’m a law student, which means I have plenty of spare time on my hands. All my older brothers however, have full-time jobs these days.

The thing that really bothers me, is that the roles have changed. These days, ME, I’m the only one that gets to play games. I’m the one that tries to get the guys into trying a game. “Guys, Gears of War 3 seems like a lot of fun.” “Sorry dude, way too busy with the family.” These kind of arguments got to the point where I said; “Guys, you’re acting like a bunch of douchegays.. Just because you have a job and a family, doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun, once in a while”. My oldest brother replied to that, saying: “Shut the hell up.. Do you remember how you weren’t into gaming AT ALL?! And now you’re trying to get us back there? The only thing that could get you into spending time with us was Diablo 2.. The only way you’ll get us back in there, is by buying us all Diablo 3.”

My brother still has no clue that Diablo 3 is in development, being busy with his job and family. I figured it would be so great to send them an e-mail saying: “Guess what, here it is; Diablo 3!!”. It would certainly reinforce our bound as brothers :) It would be no problem at all for me to wait a couple of months and surprise them in december..

But just take a guess how awesome it would be for me to tell them: “Guys, this game isn’t out yet.. You’ll have to come over to my place and play with me”. I just want to do for them, what they did for me all these years ago;

Show them how gaming can enrich your life :)

Kind regards,

Anton de Beuker from the Netherlands.

I hope I’m one of the lucky people can have a Diablo III beta key. Why ? I don’t really know. I’m just a person, like many here, love Diablo. This is the first game (D2) I’ve played when I was a child and touched the computer, so it’s one of the best memory of my life. If I’d have your beta key for Diablo III, it’d be likes that you’ve given me a “ticket to my childhood”, it’s more than a dream come true.

Am i anymore deserving than anyone else here. I dont know i think we are all big fans. For most of us the Diablo franchise has been number 1 for a long time. It started for me at a friends house he just got Diablo 1, and we ended up sitting there for about 10 hours playing it. I went out and bought it the next day. I devoted countless hours into those dungeons looking for MORE LOOT…..

A loved diablo i really did, so thats why i went to the midnight release for Diablo 2. And well i still play D2 to this day.

I have been hanging for d3, long before it was announced, and been hanging for any details about d3 since its announcement. I check the forums…. A LOT more than i should haha.

why do i want a beta key, well i want to get back into the world, i have been watching alot of the streams, which makes it hard, its fantastic to see this fantastic game, but it so hard to not be able to take control.

“The amount of times i have been watching a livestream…and clicked on the screen to say ….go pick up the page of training/scroll etc….is ridiculous”…and i have to remember its not me playing it.

if we get a d3 midnight release ill be there again. But if you guys give me the chance to give me a taste, well that would be unbelievable.

Also not sure if im going barb or wiz for my first character, would love the opportunity to be able to test out those and the other characters to see which way i would like to go.

I would also like to report my experiences to all the other DIE HARD fans, i know how much people would give for a key, so i think you owe it to them to “give back”

Keep up the good work guys

Hey Guys. Here is my love affair with Diablo 2.

So my computer room used to be underneath the stairs leading into my basement. The ceiling was low and it was cold and dark. My parent were getting divorced, so my step dad used to sleep in the room next door to the aforementioned computer room.
In the middle of the night, after everyone was asleep, I used to sneak into the computer room and play Diablo 2. One night I found out that my step dad was sick of me using all of hie AOL minutes (Yeah you used to pay BY THE MINUTE for internet in the 90s), so he locked the door when he went to bed.
Of course, my solution was to go on a covert mission to retrieve the key and get my MF on. He hid it on the top shelf in his Living room. In all of my infinite wisdom, I climbed on the couch, put my feet on the bottom shelf of the display case, and reached for salvation. I lost my footing because of the socks I was wearing, and I dragged the key down from the shelf. Along with every picture frame, knick knack, piggy bank and miscellaneous NASCAR collectables.
I got my ass beat at 3am for being infactuated with Diablo’s open ended, randomly generated, endless possibilities. Beta key or not, I can’t wait until launch.

the main reason i want beta key….well obviously its because Diablo III is an amazing game!!!!!!!! but other then that i want to check out what blizzard have changed about Diablo in last 10 or so years…never played diablo 1 but got hooked on diablo 2 for the longest time and blizzard does wonderful job at making games and is awesome expending their marketing ideas and since diablo III seems completely different and new from other series i am anxious to find out and set foot on a new journey soooo hopefully you guys can pick me! =]

Can’t really find a reason why you should pick me over anyone else.

But since I’m planning to level every class to max level, explore every nook and cranny of the game, kill every monster, pick up every single item, and complete every eventual achievement;

I JUST CAN’T WAIT TO GET STARTED!!

Well, I’ve been reading the news since D3 was announced. And now that beta started, I’ve been watching too many videos. I’m just blown away by the looks of this game. I find myself hovering over the videos wanting to click things. It’s just so tantalizing! It looks like so much more than I could have even hoped for. I’ve read all the negativity and just brush it off. I guess I’m a fanboi, but it looks like I was justified in that. At least imo anyway. Anyway, I remember Diablo 1 and 2 quite fondly. My wife and I (who was my girlfriend at the time of D2) played many a nights of D2. So much fun. Dungeon crawling and the inability to stop clicking led to more than a few all nighters. Nothing like seeing the sun come up and thinking, oh crap perhaps we should go to bed now.

Like all the other super fans here, I would love to get a beta key. I would certainly put it to good use and probably play way too much. Cheers on the beta key giveaway. I’ll be browsing your site tomorrow to see what else your site has to offer.

BTW I found this from diii.net.

Well hows it going guys? I only hope everybody is as excited as I am about Diablo 3. I as have many others have followed this game from its start. I have lost many of hours and received many bad grades in school because of this series :D but its all for a good cause.

I would like to think I am a good candidate for beta testing because I have beta tested many games before and am aware that beta testing is for checking for bugs and such that need to be fixed before the game comes out so that the experience is awesome for everybody once the game launches. I stalk my B-Net account multiple times a day in hopes to get excepted but go to sleep sad every night :( .

One story that I remember the most is happened when a buddy and me were playing through Hell and were fighting against the ancients. My friend was play a sorceress that was mainly lightning based and I was a Barb. We were around 73-74 ish. We fought those bastards for around 15 to 20 minutes before we killed them all because 2 were immune to lighting and the other was enchanted with lightning. That fight pretty much went down with me rushing in chugging pots till I ran out and died. At that point my friend would kite the around the room till I ran back in to pick them up again. When we finally got them down I had no money left in the bank and no xp left for that level, in which I was well into that lvl which sucked. But all in all it was a blast and we won lol. The ancients to me will always be the hardest boss but a blast at the same time.

Hope you all enjoyed my little rant and good luck to everybody who enters the contest.

May Diablo spare you on his next return.

The reason why I think that I’m worthy being the winner of the beta key is, aside from being an avid Diablo player since I can remember myself as someone, is that I’ve seen quite a few brazilian people on the beta, and I’d really like to see how Diablo III is gonna play for us here.
And seriously, I’ve checked my battle.net account 273 times today, PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY PLEASE.

Diablo is my favorite game series of all time. I actually cryed when D3 was announced. If I received the beta key, I would play for at least 40 hours non stop. I don’t deserve the beta more than anyone else, but I know I’d enjoy it more than many.

My favorite story about diablo 2 is that after dating my girlfriend (now wife) for 3 years I found out that, when it first came out, she played a ton of d2. She is not really a gamer at all so when I found this out it was a pretty big surprise, and of course we started playing together. Her favorite way to play was doing odd specs with the assassin, treating it like a caster. It wasn’t the most effective, but it was fun! It was that sort of flexibility that made d2 such a great game.

I think I deserve the key because I am excellent at bug testing, having worked professionally at a large game publisher’s QA department several years ago (I’m not in the industry anymore). I would make clear, accurate reports with reproduction steps. I know is is not the primary purpose of the beta, but it can’t hurt! Other than that, I would also give my wife a chance to play, and it would get me major points to give her that opportunity!

Just one problem, my personal “lord of terror” will be born right about when (I predict) Diablo will be hitting the shelves… So while most of you guys are hacking through masses of grotesque rotting corpses, I will be duel wielding diapers and baby formula.
As I write this, my baby-momma’s hormones are slowly transforming her into a malicious creature of pure hate. I have removed all sharp objects from the house, but I fear for my own safety. Basically I need an excuse to lock myself away in a dark room for hours at a time… she scares me…

So why do I deserve the BETA key?
Because I just want to be the best father I can be, and the best way, no, the ONLY way to prepare for living with a newborn is by battling hordes of blood thirsty demons.

So gentlemen, I leave my fate in your hands.

I love, and have loved diablo, since it’s nascent release back in 96. It’s my favorite blizzard franchise by leaps and bounds. I remember faking injuries at elementary school to go home so I could flee from the butcher like a fallen imp from a jacked up shaman… until you close a door behind him and lay down some 1337 strat firewalls. my 11 year-old self was awesome.
I love diablo. I won’t pretend to think I love it any less or more than the rest of the blizzcore nerds that scour these forums for any inkling of news, or discuss class balance and lore. But I can offer something a little different. Objectivity. I will look with eyes unclouded by fanboyism or cynicism. I love games, period. But I’m not afraid to love them hard too… That came out wrong… I’ll continue… I won’t imagine theirs a perfect sheen over the game despite how giddy it would make me. I want to do everything I can to help make this a better game for everyone. I want sanctuary newborns to feel how I felt when I played Diablo.

Like a little Girl.

P.S. My favorite memory that expresses my love for Diablo is short but sweet. My longest relationship of 3 years (back in high school) is near and dear to me. However, one large factor in the end of that relationship was gaming… More specifically, meph runs and bovine bbq ala Tristram. So basically, I sacrifice personal relationships for Diablo.

If that was wrong, I don’t want to be right.

Ok… So where do I begin. Well first and foremost I have been a diablo fan since diablo 2. I instantly fell in love with it and played it for a while. Like every game, there came a time when I got bored of it so I stopped playing it, but I kept it cause I knew I would play it again, and I did just that, up till now. Every year I make it a habit to reinstall diablo 2 and LoD, and go through the storyline again on bnet US-East server. Yes I do get tired of the typical bots spamming my rooms with their advertisements, and even the bots that did baal runs and mf runs. But even that couldn’t stop diablo from being a formidable adversary to hack and slash games 10 years later. I have played the vast majority of ALL games ever made since 1984 and now. Diablo is the only one I can truely say I can still go back to and enjoy it just as much as I did the first time I played it, and I have learned something new each time. I can say without doubting myself that I probably beat the game over 500 times. I also am a WoW veteran and have completed most that there is to do on that games as well. I still dont think WoW holds a candle to Diablo, but the elements in each are too different to compare. I spent that past 6 months checking my email and battle.net for a key and every website/scam possible for a beta key. So many scammers out there. I’ve exhausted all my vespene gas looking for a key, and on my last ditch effort I run into this website and see a light at the end of the tunnel. I run towards it with my hammers circling me and my enigma armor charged and ready to teleport. Will there be a beta key at the end of the tunnel? In time we will see!!!

Every one of us loves the Diablo franchise. Every one of us has followed its development. That’s a given–that is exactly why we are here, spending time writing a comment on why we would love to win a beta key.

Many, including myself, are also obviously huge fans of Blizzard and have kept up with their titles and work for over a decade.

I’m extremely excited for the game: for the story, and the play. But I’ve really enjoyed this entire process. Blizzard is amazing with detail, and as a graphic designer who is also immensely interested in psychology and anthropology, I get a lot out of that.

I love pouring over the world they’ve created. Visually, every depth and shadow, every barren tree, every soft touch of light is beautiful. It’s inspiring. The UI is also amazing. I love how they use the subtle touches of blue here and there to counter act the harsh deep reds.

But this even goes out beyond the scope of the game. Blizzard always has the most amazing websites: both their D3 announcement site and their current community site. Obviously, the chat gem is a nice detail, but there’s so many other touches. Behind every class portrait on the class page, there is a subtle orb that slowly moves. Even the resource orbs on the site glide as they do in the game. The Blizzard.com homepage Diablo featured image slowly glows.

Man, I am just so damn excited for all of those little details. Sure, in a lot of ways the beta might be short, but I just want to soak it in. I can’t tell you how inspiring those little UI touches are, or what a nice style the brush-stroke styled art is. I want to immerse in it for a while–AND enjoy the game. I get so much fun out of it, but also professional growth.

I can tell you about the previous Diablo games, about the lore, all about Caine.

I can tell you about Blizzard and their attention to detail

But I can’t tell you about -every- little detail in the beta. That, I have yet to appreciate–and those extra details are why I’d love to get into it.

Why I deserve a beta key?

Like many here, I’m a blizzfan since I was very small. Since I have 5 years to be exact. At that age I had bought my first computer with my first game “Lost Vikings”.
Then came “Warcraft I,” with its human vs orcs, another great game, which did not understand much because I was too young. “Warcraft II”, “Lost Vikings II”, “Blackthorne” All these games were great and always will be.
But one, just one part my life and left his mark forever. That game was the “Diablo I”.
A friend came with your CD of “Diablo” recently bought and played all afternoon that day. I asked him to please lend me a few days.
It was really incredible, and frightening. Their music, their effects (for that time were that good effects whoooooooooo!). Every time I hear the theme music of Tristram, I get goose bumps. It’s amazing how a game can make you think of all those beautiful moments of your childhood.
I remember one time had come to the floor 24, SO CLOSE TO REACH Diablo and suddenly the light goes, and, having forgotten to save my progress, I was screaming for more than 10 minutes (no joke), while my mom came to me to ask what had happened. I replied that it was very close to killing Diablo. Then my mother went into hysterics and broke the CD saying it was evil and that a boy my age should not be playing that.
I never knew how to apologize to my friend when I told him what had happened. I have not spoken to him since.

“Diablo” really made an epoch in my life. Like its predecessor, “Diablo II”.

Why I deserve a beta key? I try a little of this game, and feel the joy that filled my life in my childhood. I want to try and verify that the saga still remains as authentic as it was in its glorious era.

PS: You can perhaps reconcile with my friend, after all he would play with the account. : P
PS2: Sorry for my very poor english: /
PS3: You Know That You have a fan in Argentina (that’s me: D)

The reason i should get a Beta key…………….I have done everything u can think of to prepare for a long and thoughtful test of D3. I just got off the phone with the plumber to see how much it would cost to replace my computer chair with a toilet.

Since I am not interested in bragging about my gaming history/accomplishments, or writing some long-winded post the truth of which nobody would be able to determine, I can maybe atleast tell you a joke you may not have heard before in exchange for a shot at the beta key you are giving away!

Three construction workers are working on the top of a skyscraper and lunch time rolls around. The first man sits down on and opens his lunch that his wife had made for him and says, “Damn! Tuna sandwich again, I swear if I get another tuna sandwich I am going to jump off this building!”. The second man takes a seat next to him opens up his lunchbox and sighs, “Another ham sandwich? If I have to eat another ham sandwich I think I am going to jump off this building.”. The third man sits down and opens his lunchbox as well saying, “Salami?! I can’t take it anymore, if I have to eat another salami sandwich I am throwing myself off this building!”.

The next day at work lunch time comes and the three men sit down to eat again. The first man opens his lunchbox and finds a tuna sandwich then jumps off the building. The second man opens his lunchbox, sees a ham sandwich and then walks off the building. The third man opens his lunchbox as well, becomes enraged at the site of a salami sandwich and throws himself off the building. Over the next day or so, the reason why those three crazy men had killed themselves had spread around the construction crew.

A few days later at the first worker’s funeral the widows of the three men are gathered together, talking to each other and trying to figure out how something so horrible could have happened. The widows of the first two men are in tears while they hug each other and the first man’s wife wails, “How could this have happened? Why didn’t those fools just tell us they wanted something different for lunch?!”. The second man’s wife sobbed, “I can’t understand it either dear…. how could they do this to us?”. The third worker’s wife had been mostly silent the entire time, just staring off into nothing, looking as much confused as full of grief. Eventually the first two widows turned to her and asked her if she was alright upon which she slowly turned towards them and said with a strange look on her face, “He always made his own lunch….”.

Hopefully you haven’t heard that one before! It is one of my favorite jokes I have heard over the years!

Alright, I’d like to weigh in why I would like a Diablo 3 Beta key. Like most I’ve been following this game since the early rumors of the games release, talking before the Invitational in France. My obsession with Diablo is pretty strong. However this isn’t the reason for my request for a key.

My brother-in-law and I play video games all the time, it’s one of the many ways that we bond aside from hiking and frisbee golf. He is also serving in the Army, and turns out will be leaving the country to serve overseas. I wish I could say more, but that is all he can tell me.

I would like a copy of the beta so he will have a chance to at least test the game out and have a shot to try a character or two before he must leave to serve our country. I know he would greatly appreciate the gift, and I would be eternally grateful of the gesture of good will.

Just going to throw my chips out on the table.

Don’t think I deserve it any more or less than anyone else here, nor do I feel like trying to type a bunch of grandiose crap about myself.

I’ve got the flu, I’ve got nothing but time, and appreciate/enjoy the stream.

Good luck to everyone watching!

I don’t really have any good reason why you’d give me a beta key other over some of these other posters.

But I’ve probably watched somewhere in the neighborhood of 20+ hours of gameplay video. That probably gives you an idea on how insane I am about this game.

Give me the key. It will not go unused.

Hello, Everyone…

I have read most of the comments on here and i believe that almost everyone deserves a chance at the beta key. I’ve read some touching stories and some funny ones.

I’d like to believe that i would be a good candidate for the D3 beta key because of my intentions for the beta if i were to receive a key and my memories and undying love for the Diablo series.

Diablo 1 & 2 were the first games that i’d had really gotten into and it was what my childhood was really based around. I even met my best friend because i played this game. I grew up playing the Diablo 2 with my best friend and we’d always talk about it in class and roleplay when it was recess ( i was about 10 when i first played). We were definately addicted to it. As the years went by we went on and off of Diablo 2 constantly stating that it was one of the best games ever and through it we went on to a wider variety of games and eventually became pretty hardcore gamers.

One day I was casually surfing the internet and i decided to check the blizzard website and found out that D3 had been announced. I remember that day clearly, I was by this time a highschool student and literally ran around the house squealing like a little girl. Then over the past few years i followed and watched Diablo 3 constantly, updating my best friend on the latest information. Soon F&F beta came around and my best friend and I eagerly waited for the public Closed beta to start. Soon it came at last but sadly we had not gotten the beta. I remember my friend constantly telling me that he’d let me play it first if he were to ever get the beta and i told him that id do the same. My close bond with my best friend was through Diablo and it would be awesome to play it together like we used to as kids.

If i were to get this beta key i know for one that My friend and I would explore EVERYTHING, looking constantly for bugs and glitches because one of our goals in the beta is to ensure that the game, at release, is as perfect as possible. I’ve always wanted to prove the non-believers and haters wrong about this game. This game will be good and i want to share my experiences with everyone if i were to get this key.

Thank you for reading :)

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let u know why i should get a beta key ^^.
So firstly i went off and bought a brand new pc just for diablo 3.
Its a beast and would allow me to make great quality movies to recontribute to the community.

Also i’m feeling kinda down lately since i got harshly rejected by a girl i’ve been in love with for years. It really hurt and now the only thing i’m really looking forward to is the diablo 3 beta / release.

I should also add i’ve been a hardcore gamer for over 10 years and have quite alot of experience with all kinds of games and diablo is the best out there of all the hack ‘n slash dungeon crawler type. It has its unique style and a great feel to it.

So that was pretty much what i had to say,

Thanks for reading and i hope you’ll consider me,

rodie

Great stream, very excited for D3. I am a veteran beta tester, I have been granted access to SC2 Beta, Rift Beta, WoW: WotLK Beta and a Late entry into the Cataclysm Beta. I loved D2 more than any of the games I have been able to play yet. Spent countless hours playing it and enjoyed every minute of it. I think I deserve the Beta key more because I am truely about to go insane if I don’t get a piece of the action. Like everyone else said, I don’t deserve it anymore than anyone else but would love and cherish that beta key more than anything. I would feed it and take care of it until it blossums into a D3 Release and watch it grow as my hours of sleep dwindle. Ha, seriously, thanks for the chance to even get a shot at a Beta Key, the luck for my Opt-In has certainly run its course. Hope you guys are doing more streams, I will definitly be a viewer for them. Thanks guys and don’t forget about teh Wanga Dolls. hmmhmmmm

Hello!

So i will tell how my D2 experience started… Well, i had played diablo 1 but was abit young or not enough time to get into it. And it looked scary so i guess i didnt have the balls to play it myself, i was maybe 10 or so. When D2 came out, i had my birthday in about the same time and wished to get the game as a present. So, i called over a friend to my house on my birthday morning, and what did i find in a present!!!???

DIABLO 2!!

Man i jumped out of bed and with my friend we started to maul out on D2.. My first char was in D2 classic closed b.net, i named my barbarian Minsk (from BG2, Minsc) And i made him my spear baba.. Was AWESOME.. me and my friends played it like crazy.. Got to lvl 67 wihtout any cheats and stuff.. Which is pretty good for a kid like i was..

Kid or not, i still play D2 weekly, and have been expecting D3 for AGES.. Now im married, still a couple of years left of university (but nothing hard) and i would LOVE to be able to play D3 beta, and i promise to scan for bugs to help Blizz out.

In D2LOD i got crazy about playing in HC, so after a million deaths i now have 3 lvl 90 chars on HC that im pretty proud of (very nice gear and survivability, good times with many friends) .. 2 of them are Trap Assas, so i will probably play a less fanbase-class, the Demon hunter.. Because of the playstyle i love in HC with trap-using chars (and ranged).

So i am a longtime fan of Diablo, played diablo 1 also a few times through now as an adult (no longer fear it so much :) ). This is why i think i should win the beta key, and im sure my knowledge and time spent will help to scan out some bugs hehe :)

Need to go to school now, got Traumatology practical class, sure would like to cause some traumas in D3 rather..

Ah well, maybe?

Cheers,
M.H.

I want a D3 Beta Key simply because the first two were my favourite games ever. I’m more than an avid gamer but nothing has ever grabbed me like Diablo 2 did (unfortunately to my high school results).

I’ve been with Blizzard since near on the beginning, but so have many others. I don’t think anyone deserves one more than anyone else… but I think I want one just as much ;) Plus I’ve got a week and a half of holidays at the moment with time to kill :P

Plus it would be nice to find out what us Aussies are going to have to deal with latency wise.

I hope that I am chosen for the beta key.
I’ve been following Diablo 3 since the date of the release; avidly posting on official and non-official forums. I’ve drawn many images for the community on the official forums, whether they be screenshots, ideas, illustrations, etc, which can be seen here:
http://s219.photobucket.com/home/tissueboxs

I was the first person to piece together the first Diablo 3 Jigsaw map, featured below:
http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/the-first-diablo-iii-jigsaw-images

And was mentioned again in this article:
http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/diablo-iii-jigsaw-the-highlands-passage

I continue to push forward informing more people about Diablo 3. I take pride in giving quality reports on things that I see and hear, answering questions in streams and forums, expressing my thoughts and the rationale behind them, aiming to open minds and improve Diablo 3, and the like; something I hope to put to use via the Beta.
I, however, do not think I deserve it any more than anyone else here. If I do not win, I will still continue to do what I do. Winning the key is not about winning the key, it’s about further strengthening my knowledge about Diablo 3 and giving supportive feedback that can be effectively used.

Please consider my efforts and thank you for reading!

http://www.nerdyblod.com,

First off I’d like to give you all props for being one of the first to run a beta key contest. Great way to get more of the community involved and socializing rather than refreshing our e-mail accounts every few seconds.

I desperately need beta access as I’m bored out of my mind these days lmao. Economy is in another dive and I need to find another hobby to keep me occupied as I can no longer afford to raid my local watering hole.

A few tidbits about myself, I have been an avid computer gamer for the past 10 years. Most recently playing League of Legends, which surprisingly is a very good game but is losing some of its fun factor as time goes on. Have been very active within the Blizzard community taking part in SC2, WoW, and WC3. Beta tested for all 3 games as well as other games such as DotA with Icefrog and Bloodline Champions. I’m most interested in the competitive/tournament play in these games and have found some success within each genre of the game.

I would like to thank you guys for taking the time to read my little blurb, wish you luck throughout the beta test phase and all future endeavors. Looking forward to seeing you all on Battle.net hopefully sooner rather than later.

Cheers!!

Hi guys,

‘I love Diablo’ (yeah me too!)

I won’t stream, I won’t blog, but I will share my account with about 8 very old friends I played diablo 2 with in lan the day it came out in summer 2000.
F. good memories ;) I could tell you stories about our first play through but we all know how good it was.

Our band of brothers will do that again with d3, regardless of commitments whatsoever.

Anyway, that’s me… best of luck to all and congrats to the winner.

I really want a Beta Key, I also played diablo 1, Diablo 2 LOD, and many other Blizzard game, but i have got an Beta key for any other Blizzard game, I’m From South Africa, and we never get involved in such beta testing, only a few South Africans get a chance to get Beta keys, for me thats unfair, We SA also play games and starting to get there slowly, our gaming community is growing and would like to get more involve with the international gaming community, that’s my reason want to have a Beta key for Diablo 3
