Hey everyone a few days ago I wrote about a pretty cool indie band named SpinDrift, Yesterday May 10th 2011, was the release date of their new album “Classic Soundtracks“.
I fortunately got my hands on a review copy from musebox (Thank you very much!) so I can tell you guys how wonderful it is.
The album has 14 Tracks
- Japexico
- Space Vixens Theme
- Hellbound
- Theme from Confusion Range
- Shadytown
- When I was Free
- Theme from Ghost Patrol
- Legend of the Widower Colby Wallace
- Devil with a Gun
- Theme from Amboy
- Roundup
- Showdown
- Theme from Drifter’s Pass
- Red Reflection
I believe spindrift was influenced by working with Tarantino on Hell Ride to create this album. One of my favourite songs on the album I will say is #11) Roundup because the beat is extremely catchy & I actually spent my time in class trying to re-create the beat, a few other of the Tracks are excellent, catchy, & soothing. I checked out some samples of their previous album “The Legend Of God’s Gun” & the new album actually hit the mark on the head of being based on a classic western tone, completely different from what I heard on their previous work. Overall I will say this album will be a good buy if one is into some soothing western rock.
A other thing I should mention that has nothing to do with spindrift unfortunately, is that today is the 30th anniversary of the great Bob Marley’s death. He died due to a rare skin cancer & toe infection due to Rastas not believing in medication but rather natural herbs to cure ones body.
