Hold onto your socks as Sony Ericsson sets the bar higher than Nokia with the launch of their C905!!!

Launched yesterday, in Toronto, this makes my “mouth-water” with the goodies this beauty has to offer!!  Now……wait for it….. try an 8.1MEGAPIXEL camera with real-time Xenon flash for starters!!!

Michelle Digulla, General Manager of Sony Ericsson Canada said, “the C905 Cyber-shot™ has been developed to make us all better photographers! That means making it easier to take great shots and never missing that magic moment.” She also commented, “the 8.1 megapixel C905 is a viable alternative to a digital camera. It is perfect for those who don’t want to miss a moment and those who like to send or Bluetooth™ their photos to their friends.” Hit the jump for more info!

Marketed under the banner “Take Your Best Shot” Sony Ericsson have basically announced that Nokia isn’t “the only player in town”.   It is also a sign that Sony are not just taking on cell phone makers, like Nokia, but digital camera makers.

As I have said before convergence of digital technology isn’t happening in the future its happening now and its coming at a price lower than other similar models out there.

Here are a few other things the new C905 has “up-it’s-sleeve”

  • Face detection auto-focus, smart contrast and image stabilizer.
  • 2GB Memory Stick Micro™ (M2®) included.
  • 2.4” scratch-resistant mineral glass display.
  • Send your photos wirelessly from your phone to your TV via Wi-Fi™ (using DLNA), or connect with wires using the TV-Out Cable.
  • Upload photos to your own on-line blogsite or print your photos with fantastic resolution up to A3 size.
  • GPS-enabled for geo-tagging of photos and navigation support.

The expected launch of the C905 is late on in 2008 so HOPEFULLY santa will be good to me and put one in my stocking!!!
